You know, camping isn't all that bad... I think I'm helping newbies with my 3 camping spots. I hope I'm not discouraging people from shopping at my store just by having camping. I would think they'd stay for the quality of the merchandise...

don';t think I have visited your store, but I am of the same mind as Ann

If I see campers, even 2 or 3, I TP out, unless there is something I TP'd for that I absolutely must have (and that has not happened yet)

sometimes I remember to log in my models, but that is all they are there for, to model, they are not campers earning any money or anything (and only 2) and very rarely as I always forget to log them in, OR after I log them in windows decides to update and reboot the pc...

blah

This is one of the few ways of using bots I do not have a problem with unless there are hundreds of them. There is literally no other way except to pay someone to do the same thing, which would effectively turn them into a bot anyway.

keep in mind the wiki can be edited by residents, so, even though it fits what others seem to find the norm, doesn't make it official

Fair enough. But hey, at least we have something that was written some time since 2004 now :D

I neglected to mention before that I used to camp my alt at my store, and the traffic definitely increased with time logged in and wasn't affected (as in, appearing to have been split by percentage) by visits to other parcels.

Oh and I know you weren't trying to convince that I'm wrong, just pointing out a flaw in my logic re: wiki pages as authoritative sources. Thanks. :) I'm not trying to "argue" by plopping that last bit in after I quoted you, just tossing it in here as another data point.

The only time I will believe that someone honestly has campers 'to help the noobies' is if they are in a seperate parcel to their store and not affecting their traffic rating.

Otherwise they are there to boost traffic. Simple as that.

Whether you choose to have campers is your decision. Every one can do as they like on that subject, none of my business if you do or don't- though I also don't shop at stores with campers. But the whole 'I am not doing it for traffic' bit is, IMHO, a little bit of a fib, methinks.
