I love the tats in TV show "Lost"
Thanks for all the cool store names. Maybe we should play "guess who has a tat" on the forums. I bet Bilbo99 Emu has a tat ... (not on a bum cheek but up on his shoulder)

I have thought about experimenting with texture mapping some raised scar designs and skin tattoo type socks but its very hard still for me to do skin layers here right.
In real life I have had done my own skin art but most has faded, I did leaves on branches around thighs, and skull with serpents on area inbetween chest and stomach but only part that exist is part of serpents that went keloid now. On back I had scarification branding that is really faded of 2 serpents that I had drawn and had down by a friend over 15 years ago.
I wouldn't mind some how reduplicate similar design some day here.

EXCELLENT!! and wicked!!!! You remind me of a friend who had HIS friend pierce his penis for him. It was hilarious! It didn't work coz apparantly you gotta get just the right spot with the awl that he was gonna use.

I love my tattoos in sl, I do tend to stick with one for a very long time, usually full body, but not always.
Have to admit like many though, RL I don't have a single one, a morbid fear of needles has always stopped me. But I do think SL can help people decide if they want a tattoo in RL, and the kind of style they would like.

At the end of the day it is all a matter of personal taste, and what is right for one will be totally wrong for another.

My boyfriend at the time who helped with the back scarification was trained. He had tons and tons and tons of peircing on his everything never had a problen...though my other friend had piercing in the taint place and wore some fishnet like shorts and went to the park and removed the shorts bit too quick in the bushes and ripped out the piercing accidentally when it is new.
Piercings I never done any permanent because my rl body doesn't like them. Longest I ever I had was belly button piercing for six months. The skin turned black and was black for years. Luckily it didn't reject. I took it out because it began to hurt.
Never had the guts to do the dick, etc type piercings. Issue is too many type piercings down there for guys who have to many they pee like sprinklers. And for both genders regardless if done properly skin can reject them, which splits the skin or accidentally their can be ripped out too easily.
Lot can go wrong with piercings or rl body modifications especially if you're not experienced with them.
I was really, really wild in my twenty's...I am quite boring at 42.

But really stuff like that really should be done by Professional or highly skilled person who knows what they are doing. Even with a Pro body modifier things can go wrong.
It would probably be safer to do that type of activity in role play sense with prims and textures then real life.
Yet when I was twenty something I didn't mind the risk.

I was looking a lot for tattoos but until now i couldnt find nothing that i like. I'll check the stores that you recommend.

I decided to design my own pack, i think that look nice, and not needed to stay in a room full of poseballs to see them.

It will be cool to buy limited tattoos, because it's very boring see when all the avis are using the same tribal, the same dragon, etc.

In the pic of my profile you can see one of my tattoos.

aitui. the best.

/me nods...

It´s cool most of their tats come with a faded version. And they have awesome full body tats.
I have the butterfly full body tat but sometimes I change to a smaller one on my shoulder-blade and a belly-rounding-one (depends on the outfit). That´s so cool about sl - to have a full-body-tat and be able to switch to smaller or none :-))
In rl I don´t have any... coward ;-) but the longer I wear my sl tats the more I think about making it real...

I have none in RL and although I have tried a few in SL, I only really liked one of them. Most just seem too large - I would want something like a very small rose or heart on my breast or rear. But I want it small enough to feel initimate - not one that you can see from across the freakin room.

Seconded.
I got some lovely tats from there. Went a bit mad and got more than I need lol.

I saw a nice one at TK clothing too. I keep meaning to go back.

I wish I could remember where I got my isis tattoo from. I love it, its my fave tattoo and I remember seeing loads of gorgey ones there, all good prices but I don't have a clue where it was! lol.

RL I have one tattoo, on my back right shoulder. About 10-12 inches wide.
In SL I have a brand, but no tattoos. I have yet to find anything I like in SL. However, many of the shop names thown out here are new to me, so I have hope. :)

*little voice* i still wear the one of yours i won, trout. maybe my laptop graphics are too horrible for me to see that it's cheesy, but i like it.
.

*blushes* Honestly, Nika, that's the nicest thing anyone has said to me in quite a while and I'm glad you like it. I guess my problem in SL is I look at the things people are doing and I look at my own attempts and it just seems hopeless. I'm still playing with building and creating, but the better I get the better everyone else looks.

Good idea. The look of a tattoo will change with changing body shape, particularly on the limbs - which is something else to look for in a tattoo artist: some one who appreciates a tattoo shouldn't just be 'slapped on' with total disregard of lines of muscle tone, and curves of the body. For some types of tattoo design it's not so important, for others, it's all important. I have a friend who had a maori tribal type design put on his arm - it would only look as it was suppose to look if the central part of the tattoo closely followed the line of the tricep, as the designer had so clearly intended. Unfortunately for my friend, this appears to have gone completely over the tattoo artist's head. Though it still looks good, I've still not had the heart to tell him that it's not as great as it should have been!

I hope all goes well with the weight loss Trout, I've been there before (twice!). If you are able to do some exercise first thing, running preferably, but even a 30 min brisk walk helps a lot, that will get your metabolism kicked in for the day. Bulk up on plenty of veg, fish and white meat. Avoid potatoes, white rice, white bread, and any other high GI carbs - not only will it help the weight come off, you'll be amazed how much more energy you have. Oh, and try to drink at least 2L of water per day.

It's definitely a battle worth fighting; good luck!

Yes and yes - the RL tattoo will be with me forever, so I'm being incredibly picky about who does it. I have plenty of time. You pretty much described what I'm doing to lose weight as well. Luckily I'm not HUGE. I've just packed on a few too many pounds and I'd be happier if I shaved them off. I'm not getting any younger, and there are a lot of mountains left to climb here in WA. I heard tell some of them have little lakes full of trout. After ice out this Spring, you all might not hear from me for a few weeks.

Yeh I thought after I had posted it that you probably know all that! And yes, even the smallest amount of weight loss makes a huge difference; I've never been at a weight that would be considered to be fat, or even overweight really, but it's been enough to noticably slow me down.

Sounds like you live in a wonderful place, Trout!

For black and white, which is my preference, I recommend Tattoo Corner & Etchd. I'm waiting for Kat Von D to open up a tattoo parlor here in SL. SL Ink :p

I don't use tattoos much in SL. I think pretty lingerie with a lot of details show up best against a clean skin....tattoos is just too much. /me waves to Trout...you agree?

When i roleplay, I'm so covered up in clothing that no tattoos would show. However, sometimes I need to strip out of the gowns and go to the nude beach. Then I bought my first tattoo from addiXion, a set of trailing vines that goes between my breasts and down on the leg. http://addixion.blog.com//tattoos/

They are not shown in their blog, but the lower part is here: http://shop.onrez.com/item/231775

I really like them, and use the version for low tanned skin. I think every quality tattoo should come in versions for low, medium and hightanned skin.
