Count me in as well :-)
While building about the prettiest structure of the line i use on my parcel, i was about finished but had to delete 1 part of the upper railing. Yeah you guessed right, it was linked to about the entire building *grin*. Only the stairs weren't linked (ghost sculpties) so I kinda lost my entire work, no backup yet. Well of course I had the textures so rebuilt the darn thing in one evening, but i pretty much wanted to throw my laptop in the pond behind the RL house :)

What did i learn? Well prolly nothing as i still only backup after finishing... locking is too obnoxious when i want to rearrange prims, only my building platform is locked.

having to lock and unlock prims during building is a pain....

which is how I ended up standing on thin air the other day. Yep. I deleted the floor.

Wait a second, Havok 4 solves the bug whereby objects remain stationary for ages when objects underneath them move! This could be disastrous!

clicked wear on a house in your inventory rather than drag it out? Makes a might fine hat...

Just call it the latest fashion trend ;)

That reminded me...... for some obscure reason other than me being a bit on the blonde side, I've been dragging a lot of stuff onto myself instead of onto the floor recently, makes for some very interesting fashion statements.

Learnt to enjoy sky diving that way though - how close to the ground can you get before you hit the "fly" button :)

Unless you're a dork like me and confirm that yes, you want to delete it anyway... Locks are not idiot proof it looks like (or Betty proof anyway) Can't tell ya how many times I've done that... lol DOH! (that or select part of the building while I'm linking a prim skirt. :D Clothing that doubles as shelter. yay!

heh - "clothing that doubles as shelter" - oh my . . . laughing at work . .

While at the club where I work I tried to pass an object to a friend of mine and accidentally placed it on the floor. When I went to delete it I accidentally deleted the floor. It was fun to watch everyone fall into the water below as they continued dancing.

funny . . . watching people falling down into water . . .yet still dancing . . .

This is a great thread! Haven't deleted any floors.... but i have:
- deleted a building platform in the sky while standing on it (ya ... i know...)
- almost linked a skirt to a castle
- linked an earring to my black-box-studio
- sent an earring flying into another region when repositioning it
- while texturing someone's castle build, covered about a quarter of the entire structure in wooden floor panelling (very grateful at that point that the whole thing was too big to link as one piece :D
- oh and when wanting to show some friends a new store design, planted the whole thing on top of them

You've got to laugh really

Yes, a very good thread indeed. I can't stop laughing out loud at work, dang it. :)

I deleted a corner of a rented house once. Was too embarressed to mention it, so rebuilt the missing section myself. There was one occasion when auto-return was turned on in a sim-wide land and I ended up with my furniture floating in the air. I didn't realize that the house I had rented was not set to the group. As I looked around while on my bed floating two stories up, I noticed many many others also had their rented houses taken away.

Whats gotta be funnier, is deleting a house floor, watching all those silently dancing away fall into the water, then put the floor back before they come back to keyboard

I keep doing that to myself. Not that method, but the rezzing method. I'd fall through the still rezzing floor, and get stuck. I'd fly up to try to get out and bang my head. There I am, stuck, nothing I can select and sit on (and I try) except something that says "get closer to sit" , I'm banging my head on wood here, I can't get closer. Nothing to do but TP out and hope for the best.

It's very easily done - you just go to drag the building out of your inventory and rez it where you wanted it, and with a slip of the mouse you drag it onto your avatar instead!

*Oh bugger it!!!! I've done it again!!!!!!!!*
