The question of whether inactive products will be charged is very important because of the rule that items may not be re-listed. If you have any seasonal products you will probably not want to pay the listing fee all year. On the other hand you will want to re-list the same items next year.
This is why the Lindens are saying they 'probably' won't be charged but, yes, once again they've completely failed to think things through. Huge moans happening about this from all directions, but merchants wanted a way to stop the copybotters giving things away free and for the marketplace to be cleaned & tidied. You didn't expect LL to fix anything when they could just introduce fees, did you? |

I understand that they don't want people to delete and then relist stale items simply to draw attention to them, but you are right that they are many seasonal items that people need to be able to keep "inactive" until that season rolls around again, if they are not allowed to delete and then relist the items once a year (think Easter, Halloween, Christmas, etc). What a mess. _____________________

Remove the things from your box (or delete your box) then go to the "my inventory" page and your items will show up under 'unassociated inventory' with an 'edit' button next to them. click that, scroll down delete, choose ok, close the page and you will be back at the 'my inventory' page. Go to the next item, repeat. Once in a while refresh the 'my inventory' page to get rid of the ones that are done. It's still a lot, but it is a click or two less per item. That's just the usual way. Thanks, but I was asking if there is "Any fast way to delete off XST?" which it appears there isn't. _____________________

YIKES! No reposting of deleted items? Yes, and I don't understand why that rule is in place. Listing and de-listing are nothing a person would do for fun - they are both evil chores. _____________________

Quote from Colossus Linden in the Flogs
Will the L$10 monthly listing fee apply to inactive items? A number of merchants have asked if they will simply need to deactivate items or if they will need to delete them to avoid this charge. We have not yet designed this system. I implore our merchants to refrain from deleting their items before we have defined and announced how this system will work. We do not want you to have to do any more work than necessary. We have not yet fully designed this system, but it is our hope that we can design it in such a way that the fee will only apply to active items. It is our goal & expectation that inactive items will not be charged the fee. Once I can guarantee that, I will let everyone know. ************************************************** *********************** So there ya go.. They don't even know.. It's either you chance it and are scrambling the day it all takes effect or you do it now.. You have to delete each listing one at a time. It SUCKS. but it's LL.. _____________________

It's to keep you from deleting an item with unflattering comments and relisting it as a new item. Maybe in that case comments should be assigned to the person, not the individual product. _____________________

It SUCKS. but it's LL.. How totally Linden Lab. Yeah, I think I'll just delete and find a less stressful venue for my items. _____________________
