I'd be more concerned with detrimental residents than LL.
While we've been having this discussion, someone set up shop with a fake police station and has been recruiting newbs fresh out of Hau Koda to be officers. They now stand all over Docklands cursing in their new uniforms (apparently they know very few other types of words) and contributing significantly to the burden Docklands already faces as their numbers rise. You want to whine about problems? You can't blame LL for this guy and his racket. _____________________

Sounds like they need to create a new 4-sim Infohub island to the west of Bay City.

A few of us had fun with one of those "officers" last night. He was only 5 days old and eventually got rather frustrated in learning that he didn't have authority there. I look forward to meeting their chief.

Word from Jack Linden in his office hour today
Short term (to be detailed more next week): A couple of "spinoff" hubs to the north and west of Hau Koda to help with the load. No idea if these will be attached to the north and west, or if they'll be "adrift." Long term: a technical fix that will allocate new and bounced Residents by load versus location. _____________________

No idea if these will be attached to the north and west, or if they'll be "adrift." Hasty preparations with existing builds I assume? Being short term and hopefully in short order. I know theyre playing with the adrift thing over to the north of Gulf of Lauren (west of Blumfield on the map, southwest of the cornfield). LisaHot: Yeah the new officers (ooo one I saw today was a police detective) are all barely days old. All disoriented recruits into the gaming thing apparently. _____________________

Seems like a lot of the folks in that Docklands corner (I was jes down there) are wise to them too. Not a lot of love for them down there. _____________________

That is all well and good, but the landing point must be moved north too so they don't stumble into Docklands. As I said before in a posting; insert a sim between Hau Koda and Docklands, and a lot of the load on Docklands will be gone. This should be so simple it would be done by dawn Friday if one put a skilled resource at it. |

There is a complete disconnect going on here. Like they cannot comprehend anything outside of their mainland 'drop zone' agenda. There doesn't seem to be any relief in sight. It just keeps getting worse and worse. _____________________

Kinda sounds like all hubs should be separate from the mainland.
It would also kind of force people to figure out how to get 'off the island' so to speak. |

****Edit: All of this is just nonsense since any part of it would require long term planning by LL and we all know that is impossible
Hubs aren't bad and even more hubs wouldn't be bad. It's LL and their poor estate managment that cuase problems with hubs. How many hubs are sitting about dead empty while others are over crowded? I find ahern and nova to be decent hubs with at least a bit of purpose behimd them. Ahern with the sandboxes etc. And Nova with the 'downtown' management aspect of it. And the hobo hub is quite well but together as well. The problem I find with most hubs is their lack of even begining to achieve anywhere near what those three do. The private hubs are doing a pretty good job af making up for it though. They really need to take what they already have and try restructuring and rezoning. And then with my discovery of brown and the other similar 'zoned' sims my belief in LLs estate management shrank even more.....look at the map and how disjointed they are in respect to their surroundings. Woth all the reclaimed land from zindra moves and such and with the land being abondend every day and perhaps putting up a land bot of their own they should be able to produce more themed and structured builds on a sim or multi sim basis. Why can't more land like nova/baycity/shermerville etc be put together and perhaps with all the lessons they have learned be done even better than before? But then again all this thinking has not only produced smoke in my ears but brought me to another idea, one that ties in with prem.. member benifits. Why not start a new grid for premium members only learning from all their past mistakes in land management where they can fix all that and implement all the new ideas that have come over the years but beyond what the current grid can do such as avatar mesh and all the other goodies you all talk about. Give everyone their some free land and teir free for about 6 months or so as a beta luanch andd when it is all together and running well open it up to everyone and slowly phase out the main grid? Can have adult continent pg continent and more structure as well. And those six months would allow every one to figure out what breaks while developing new content for the whole new grid. |

I think what he is saying is more padding for now. I'm quite confident the initial thought pattern was make enough buffer from mainland but still accessible. As you may be aware, prior to last year infohubs were resident managed and in the midst of owned parcels. Then they made new ones in dedicated regions (Ross was an existing one which was totally transformed). It's looking as though they need to be situated a region's distance. _____________________
