Or is this just the Friday SL plague that rears its ugly head on most Fridays?
I am getting a lot of lag and jerking and can't really walk smoothly, and the chat lag is hideous. I've tried re-logging but to no avail. Its bad in there for me tonight. It's so bad that I'm packing up for RL bed.
Anyone else suffering?

Was the same for me, earlier today. I haven't tried to go anywhere yet tonight though.

I can't even log in at the moment. Logins have been disabled because of high then expected load apparently. 77,191 people online. Highest I have ever seen. I wonder how many of those are bots.

According to the grid status...
"Logins have been disabled while we investigate inworld issues. Please refrain from rezzing no copy objects or making important transactions for the time being. Check back for updates."
*sigh*

Lets hope they find this issue and get on top of it soon. Its horrible right now - you get so used to being able to walk about at a reasonable speed. lol.
I and my friend are just sitting and chatting cos we can't do anything else. It's nice but it would also be nice to get out and do stuff in SL too.
I've removed all flexi items, AOs scripted attachments, etc, and I've also dropped my draw distance - it seems to have improved things a little - but not much. Every bit helps though.

This is totally unacceptable. It is now problems everyday, and the weekends are a complete nightmare.. This has been going on for over a month now and there has been no improvement what so ever. And yes I do think it has a lot to do with the number of bots online these days.. I see them everywhere now, camper bots, traffic bots, model bots.. But so many of the places, clubs, stores and malls are empty.. But logins are disabled due to high load.. Yes a high load of bots!!

[RESOLVED 3:16 pm PST] Logins have been re-enabled and inworld issues are resolved. Oh really? Could've fooled me. I can't upload anything because I "don't have enough money". I have a release party later for a product benefiting a friend with cancer. Imagine how bad messing that up will look, LL.

enough

this is enough. I'm giving up. hey the real world is suddenly seeming very attractive. I've said this before and Ill say it again - you load the grid with this many people and you dont have the servrs or whatever to accommodate them this is what you get. time to rethink guys! Unacceptable I know but youre going to have to restrict the number of logins. Price of being popular - or you work on a system that can take this load. Good luck!

I was just in the middle of a chat with my friend, and was booted, and now I get the log-ins disabled due to high load message. I don't know if it was a good thing or bad thing that I was booted with things running so badly. My pants turned white a while back, even though I had touched nothing, and my eye colour had changed again.
I wish there was a ticket I could log to complain. Right now - I feel like we get a 2 hour old message, and no chance to 'speak' to anyone that counts to even get an apology, or log our displeasure about this anywhere, except on this forum. And does that even make a difference.
How quickly do they notice if there is a problem? I mean if it takes 2 hours to get a message to the 'masses' then how do they know if we can't tell them.
As a SL non-paying member, you can't even log a ticket outside of the options they give you, and those are limited and certainly do not include performance issues. Guess they'd be over-run.
It seems every UK winter is worse than the other seasons. I would love to know if there was a reason for this too.
So many unanswered questions......

There is no need to restrict the logins, just get rid of the bots.. If they just took traffic out of the search (it is totally meaningless anyway, it is gamed beyond belief) that would get rid of about 20-30k of the logins and then the real players could get in. Of course long term what they have to do is to scale up their servers, database and network. As well as fix some of the real performance taxing bugs they have now, like the texture cache issues. But those solutions cost money, and just locking us out costs them nothing. After all our tier is still being paid. So it is actually better for them, they collect our money, and deny us the service we are paying for!

Just logged a ticket - might not be a right category - or even get through to anyone of relevance, but I feel like I have at least done something - so for tonight - I'm done. It's 12.46am so really I should be in rl bed. lol.
Goodnight everyone, wherever you are in the RL world and I hope SL gets better for you all in the next couple hours - I'll try again tomorrow and see if there is any improvement.

You gotta love this. Now I don't get the "Logins Disabled" message anymore. I get the "The system is logging you out" message.. Of course it has been logging me out for over 20 minutes now.

Its not the bots.. tho I dont like them... LL needs to get a handle on server load SL should be able to do 200k by now with ease dieing at 75k+ is pretty lame but goes to show SL is still beta btw 30 bots use the same resources as 1 av.. so maybe get rid of 1000 prim hair and boots would work better lol

They should implement a queue system like many of the popular mmorpgs these days. Then at least it isn't a lucky dip who gets in first, and not constantly clicking log in, while hoping for the best.
