Speaking as someone in a medlab-related major, the idea of doing research here scares the pee out of me. >_<

From: Czari Zenovka I loved that game! Hey...maybe I can be one of the SL docs. I loved it too. We should start a practice! Remember the commercial how they made it look like the bones, etc were practically flying out of the holes, but you got it home and the buzz and reaction was way underwhelming?

I'll pay 100 lindens to someone if they will pull the flaming bag of dogshit gag on a Linden and bring pic as evidence. Double if they are one of the big shots.

There's now a text transcript up on the blag. I noted: From: Philip Linden I know there has been some tension and protests and stress around even this event, this celebration, which I think is great — it is emblematic of what Second Life is all about and why it is so special. Even to attempt to make kind of cultural or any kind of a celebration that makes a presentation of what Second Life is, is kind of bound to not work in some sense because what we are doing here together is outside the bounds of possibility. There is more going on and there is more meaning and more of the future and more imagination here than I think there have ever been in many ways anywhere on earth. So, in a way that I think is very inspiring, when you try to paint a picture of it at one time and in one place, you fail. You cannot do it and I think that is moving. Nice to see all this acknowledged, even if it is in Linden-speak. From: M Linden When Philip asked me to join Linden Lab, I was real excited because it is the perfect intersection of creativity, technology, and business and it is so exciting to see what is possible when great minds come together to create something really, really unique.. He missed one important part of the SL intersection that points to a lot of the issues as of late: community. Community is such a huge part of Second Life. This world works because of the community, much in the same way all those places like AOL used to. When they moved away from their community model, they failed. I hope this was simply an oversight, and not a sign that El Presidente Nuevo doesn’t understand this important part of the puzzle that is Second Life. Mari
