well, since you know the name of the person, ban the name!
Click the top of your page where your land name is. In the box you get, at the right side is a tab called "access". In the bottom right is a list of banned names (if you have any) in a white box and below that is the buttons. "add" and "remove"
Click the "add" button and a new box will open for you to search for a name. Put the persons name in the box and click "search", when the name is found, click "select" and that should move the name into the banned names box that I mentioned.
Done, that person wont be on your land any longer.

autoreturn is the only defence against clutter being left on your land. I would never not have it. "No object entry" and "no build" are not perfect, so you have to always use autoreturn as well. Im sure everyone who doesnt have autoreturn finds vehicals on their land occasionally, as unfortionately when using vehicals, SL crashes sometimes leaving it. (and I think "no object entry" will increase the likelyhood of someone being thrown off their vehical) Yes, everyone, please. Turn on autoreturn. I agree with Cortex. A really great way to increase the number of instances of vehicles left behind on your land is to enable "no object entry" (or any sort of access restriction) and then set autoreturn to zero. Most of the time, enabling build, scripts, and object entry is no problem. It's autoreturn that will keep your land clean. --Hugsy _____________________

Elora, have you tried searching other names in the Ban People Chooser? There used to be a bug that, if you didn't have at least one calling card in inventory (doesn't matter whose), People Chooser wouldn't bring up ANY names. I don't know whether LL ever corrected that or if, knowing them, they might have reintroduced it at some point with their 'fixes.' _____________________

The other day I posted about a windsurfer I found on my land. I returned it. Well, this girl keeps leaving it. Several times now. Not only in the water; now she is bold and just locks it on my beach. So today, I go to look her up so I can im her and ask her to stop doing this, to take it with her when she leaves at least. But, I can't get her in the search. Not listed. But at least I can get her from clicking on the object. So, I send her the IM. But then I think to myself, I may as well just ban her. She's done this more than a few times already. And her profile is dicey. Can't search for her, no payment info, etc. But, there is no way to ban her since you can't search for her! Finally, I just put the "ban all avatars with no payment info listed" into my group. But, I don't necessarily want to leave that there, since some of my friends might possibly have this attribute. Is there any other way to ban this person? I reading another post yesterday about unverified accounts not showing up in the search and many argued how this could ultimately affect the grid. I think this is a prime example, if you can t find someone they cant be banned right? Aside from the security bot/scanner that you can buy in various places, would getting her profile by going into 'Edit' on the windsurfer then clicking profile next to owner work. |

It sounds like that's the issue...her name is not being found. Well, not really... you click on the object left behind and it will tell you the name of the owner. That is the person you ban! If a bug/glitch/feature prevents someone from selecting a name to ban, then a solution cheaper than a security orb would be:
Scripted prim such that when the prim is touched, it prompts for a name to be entered in chat. The script then adds the name to the parcel ban list with llAddToLandBanList(). But duh! you need the agent key for that. There's some code at http://lslwiki.net/lslwiki/wakka.php?wakka=llHTTPRequest I don't know how comprehensive the w-hat name2key database is. |

Ahhh - now I understand how I once had someone else's prims on my land l couldn't find at first. I could have just returned them, but I wanted to see what they were. It turned out to be a tiny ring about 300 meters up in the air, fiendishly hard to locate. It's been a mystery to me how or why someone could rez it up there. My skybox is another 300 meters even further up. And yes, I do keep build enabled so people can use the dressing room if they want. It more likely got pushed from a skybox in a neighboring parcel. An adjustment must have gotten out of hand (or out of ear or nose or wherever the ring was intended). You know -- when you push something toward the edge of the screen it goes halfway across the sim. I bet someone was ticked I didn't have autoreturn activated so it just sat there for who knows how long. It's terribly easy to put things where you don't want them, especially if you build and you enter coordinates in the edit window. For example, I meant to change the size, and I change the x location -- oops! |

Make sure you spell the avi's name EXACTLY how it is in world. If a letter is capitalized, then make sure you have that. I have run into this issue several times, and it has always been the case. (no pun intended) Thanks for that tip Markubis, I noticed she has an "O" uppercase in her first name, but still can't get her like that. But at least I tried. _____________________
