What are the top 5 things you would like to see added or changed about SL? Let's start a thread listing only your top 5 in order of priority - so your #1 is the thing you want the most.
This isn't a thread for whining about SL, it's a wishlist so let's keep it positive!
Here's mine:
1. Stability! Stability! Stability!
2. Better Avatar Mesh - or better yet, open source avatar mesh. Imagine the avatar possibilities, imagine the business opportunities!
3. Shadows - This is pretty close to number 2 for me, I think shadows with Windlight would make SL a really beautiful world.
4. Boolean cuts & combines - the ability to combine prims to single objects (not just link) or use prims to cut other prims like in real 3d programs.
5. The ability for objects to be flexi & physical at the same time so our hair & clothing moves with us instead of through us.

1) An asshat ... oops, asset server that works and doesn't need to be fixed every three days
2) Avatar mesh? Just smooth things out a bit and fix my left shoulder. I'm thinking whole new meshes would set the fashion industry on its ear.
3) Lighting that makes avatars look nicer, in all viewers. I don't care one bit about pretty water. I want faces to look good at midday settings.
4) Some instructions for builders, especially shop owners, on how to create textures that are less than 40 megabytes and take a half hour to download.
5) A no-build zone in the sky for pilots and other airborne travellers.

1. Better Sim crossings. I just love walking into the ground when I cross a border.
2. Better avatar frames (mesh what ever you like calling it). I am a girl and my breasts are not blocky at all. From any angle. 3. Fingers please! 4. Better searches. 5. For vendors to start indicating when their product is boxed or ready to use. This would help prevent having a box coming out of my butt every so often.

1. Management that has cojones. Stop being cheapasses and get true enterprise-level database software, and more redundancy with service providers. Hold coders' feet to the fire and get rid of the persistent bugs, stuff that has sat on jira for months/over a year.
2. Flowing from #1, stability.
3. Customer service that knows what it is doing, and is consistent, not consistently "resolving" issues that aren't resolved.
4. A new avatar mesh and additional clothing layers/attachment points. (okay, there are a couple of things squished into this request but I needed the space)
5. Better protection for people's IP.

1. Stability / world-peace 2. Ability for scripts to write notecards (or better - a simple in-world database script object) 3. A full-featured debug window for scripting 4. Smooth sim crossings 5. De-noobing of the standard animations and a better avatar mesh

ok, in an effort to make the total experience more positive. 1. Stop the whiners! I am tired of people just whining and whining and whining. It does no good, clutters up the channels of communication and generally puts people off contributing. If you have something to say, say it ONCE, not in every blog and/or post (blog is especially bad with that. 2. Make things work more smoothly. I hear asset servers, and network and all that gobbledygook. When there are lots of people on, the system can't handle it. Get a bigger system. 2. Lindens getting more pro-active with one-on-one communications of issues and suggestions. It's hard, because of point 1, though. You open up a channel and the whiners clog it. (can ya tell I'm a bit ticked-off with all the whining? ) 3. More attachment points, and allowing multiple items per attachment point (don't understand the tech of that, but it would be nice). 4. Decouple prim allotment from land size. Allow people to buy more prims for their land without having to go to the trouble of buying land in the same sim, or buy more land without upping their prims. This would allow much better combinations of land and prim usage, tailored to each person's needs. 5. Allow someone (with appropriately-granted permissions) to edit someone else's clothing and attachments, and to open THEIR inventory, and make them wear stuff/take it off, etc. Invaluable help when dealing with newbies. The number of times I have spent over an hour looking for the shoebase that they forgot they put on and are complaining cos their feet look odd... Re: Sim crossings - I have seen a HUGE improvement in sim crossings since they brought out Havok 4 - I don't know if it is exactly related but it seems to have got better at the same time as that. I don't go bald any more, or have clothing missing (much to the disappointment of those watching, I'm sure!)

1: switch/case/break in LSL
2: a version of llMoveToTarget that doesn't damp as it nears the target
3: ability to pass a string param (eg: CSV) to llRezObject instead of just an integer
4: llDetectedStuff in listen events
5: SVC-835

from a newbie:
1) HDRI lighting and soft shadows. (or something similar - have you seen the latest grand theft auto? wow)
2) higher prim counts on parcels.
3) the ability to have a "command-z" (yes i'm mac) on all actions. (like if youu accidentally "take" one of your objects that you planted on your land)
4) the ability to sail across sims. (like being able to get into a boat and sail into the deep blue from my island)
5) better modeling tools
i'm sure some of these already exist, but again i'm a noob.

1) Shadows - and light-blocking according to how opaque an object is. Windlight is fantastic but it's crying out for proper shadows. 2) Improved prim availability, by Increasing maximum size for normal prims to 20x20x20 or increasing prim allowances, or both. 3) 'Slice' function in building so you can cut through a cylinder, sphere, cube at an angle of your choice. Also 'Flexible Link' function would be useful. 4) Make it possible to completely remove objects overlapping your land, perhaps with a 'push back' option. 5) Minor adjustments to avatar mesh to allow for smoother joints at extreme articulation and particularly, a more flexible spine! In 'edit appearance' it would be useful to be able to adjust posture too, or to set arms so they can hang out further on fat avatars. I might post my wishlist part two (6-10) later!!!

1. Decent avatar meshes. With good UV mapping.
2. Different meshes for different layers of clothes, eg. the bottom of your jacket isn't painted onto your buttocks.
3. Skirt mesh that moves with the body underneath so legs and hips don't keep showing through.
4. The ability to modify avatar meshes by moving individual vertices and change the UV mapping.
5. Decent modifiable none prim hair.

I just have one wish and that would be a way to backup the inventory. After reading the problems people are having losing stuff it might be nice to rollback your inventory to the previous day or something.

1. Change the hosting model. It's silly to have 100 or more servers sitting, essentially idle, running regions that have no avatars and no active scripts, while the regions that people do want to visit are overloading. It's silly to have restrictive geography in a world that doesn't need it. It's silly to have to pay a thousand dollars for 512sqm2 of empty space. 2. Faster scripting and less annoying memory limits. Mono will probably already help with this, but every little helps! 3. A better method for trust and agreements between users in-world, which doesn't wind up coming down to "your only recourse is an RL lawsuit, but you have no idea who they are". 4. A clear, more explanatory, newbie experience. Tell people what they can and cannot do in Second Life - and no, the answer isn't "anything you want!" - and show them, step-by-step how to do it. 5. More willingness to experiment with and develop the social and economic model, to reduce disenfranchisement, amongst other things.

Most of my additions are already mentioned I guess: 1) First of all a stable platform. Kick-ass asset server, a system that can serve a few hundreds of thousands concurrent users. 2) Official support for prims bigger then 10x10. As long as Havok 4 can handle them, we should be able to build and use them. 3) More LSL functionality (writing to notecards, switch/case/break, and the others mentioned) 4) Lower tiers (if the current business model does leave room for that) so that more people can have more land. Or more prims per sqm. 5) More support for different video cards. In order to get more residents, we need lower end videocards to be supported. They already did a good start with Intel, they should try more of them. This is more important then better graphics, if we want SL to grow. If there was room for a few more I would add: 5) Undo !!!! 6) Better Sim crossings 7) More flexibility in how we can cut prims, especially holes. Improve first impressions for newbies, so they don't run away scared and/or disgusted

1. To be able to back up inventory on your hard drive.
2. Better sims crossings
3. The ability to be able to texture terrain on your own plot of land
4. Smallest land size possible 512.
5. More Prims, but I think there will be complaints no matter how high the prim limit is.

More big, naked jugs.
Oh, and being able to build and prim objects in an offline environment and import the completed creation to SL. There was talk about something like this years ago, but nobody seems to have heard anything more about it.
IF there is a way to combine these two, then even better.

1. More than 25 groups.
2. Improved communication system, even if that means utilising outside services like twitter or facebook.
3. Improved delivery service that provides a delivery receipt.
4. An end to sudden policy change announcements.
5. Robin and Jeska Linden as pole dancers.
