If you set your land to damage enabled, then when someone shoots them they tp home. If they don't spend enough time in the camping chairs, they don't get paid. Sooooooo.....

We need a camping shooting gallery with scripted weapons that just kill all the campers every 15 minutes. Put up signs that read that this will happen, so legit campers don't get caught (why pick on the poor newbs?) but camp bots will show up, sit down, waste 15 minutes and BLAM blown to smithereens and sent home empty handed.

I bet Qie could come up with a script for this without even breaking a sweat.

Edit - even better - put bots on your land trained to wander around killing campers. Bot killing bots! Ninja death squad bots! I love this idea.

you really really scare me sometimes.....and wheres me ratin?

But the third job, some call it, uh, "the show" or "the big dance," it's the profession that every linden aspires to.

Man, I would love for "freeze" to last 90 seconds

Me too! I had to eject someone from my garden for the very first time the other day. Given that it was the very first time it took me a while to figure out how to do it of course :o
But, it would be useful if the freeze time was a little longer. Had to freeze the poor guy twice before I managed to eject him.

::giggle:: I'm loving the shooing gallery and electric chair ideas...

Yes, I do have one camping thingy at my store. The bots tho are there from the previous owner who I don't have much info about but I believe it was a mall - the bots have been showing up since day one, way before I sat out my camping gear. What's amusing is that they aren't interested in camping at my store. They just land, stand there for like 10 minutes and then leave, even tho they're standing not 5 feet away from the camper.

Sooooo, I've been having a little fun with them. The first couple of days I turned on damage and I would blast any of them that landed, then I would add their name to the ban list on the camper.

That got old tho so last night I graduated to launching them. I turned off the TP point for my store and tracked down where the bots are landing - fortunately it's in the far corner of the lot away from there any legit customers are going to wander. Then I installed a security script that launches them to between 1500-3000m, straight up. The range on the script is really small so I'm hopefully not catching any innocent people, tho there is a 30 second warning just in case. This way the bots are still on my land and while I know they don't care one bit if they're launched, it makes me feel all warm and fuzzy every time I see that "so and so was ejected" message. :D

How about having the camping group, invite only and have people apply for camping positions like regular job to weed out the bots?
By the way I am always looking few spare lindens for uploading my textures and art and I am no bot. I even have spare group space. I bet their are others out there too in same boat.
I end up at least once a week looking for scramble game.
That could be also a option. It requires you to spell the right word for lindens.

And if you can then negotiate with them their reasoning for their actions, even better, you can always unfreeze them earlier.

Depends a lot on the individual circumstances. I don't have to play bouncer often, but usually I freeze first and see if that effects behavior. The more serious the behavior the more likely I am to freeze and then teleport home. Big difference between a noob who lost his clothes and one romping in the altogether intentionally with an active attachment....

As for the one the other night, anybody who is such an asshat to walk right into the middle of a wedding and interrupt with crass commentary is an automatic ban - no questions asked.

Trout Recreant: Scaring women since third grade. Coming soon to a store near you.

Did I miss photos, Maggie? If so, I'm really sorry. Moving to a new place has me totally screwed up, and I don't have a home PC right now, so I'm totally sideways on SL things.

Man, I would love for "freeze" to last 90 seconds - enough time to get to the "teleport home one user" function on the estate tools menu. I had a griefer at the wedding the other night and it was a mad dash to get to the right windows and boot her ass before freeze wore off and she could disrupt the wedding any further.

I think that freeze should last until you either eject them or they TP away.

I agree! It should last as long as they are still on your parcel. Many I've witnessed or dealt with, they start behaving badly the moment they thaw. I'd also like to see an Unfreeze option for the parcel owner/officers, in the case that one of the griefers actually learns their lesson.

Additionally it should not be possible to freeze or eject the actual owner of a parcel.

It is now. That should be addressed.

Regardless of bots I will say this. On average you have hundreds of sign-ups each day to Second Life. And believe it or not many people have absolutely nothing in their profile. So do not term a person a bot unless you know they are.

I think I would be quite offended if someone thought I was a bot when I didn't have anything in my profile.

Well most bots come in numbers, and usually dressed alike, usually have the same birthday, and usually dont respond to chat or anything else...so they are easily spoted. But we will make an exception for you...Mu ha ha ha!

Maybe its possible the previous owner still has a classified up for camping that is attracting the bots?

How can you do that? I thought only the owner of the land could freeze/eject... Or in the case of group-owned land, anyone with the group abilities to freeze/eject can do it but then the land isn't owned by an avatar anyways...

Personally I think when you freeze someone they ought to stay frozen until you unfreeze them (or until they teleport away). 5-minutes would be a good second-choice. 30 seconds is not enough time to do anything, the way the various menus and things have to be navigated. :(

Yes the bots are pretty easy to spot, in my case they're all completely unresponsive, belong to the same exact three groups and have absolutely nothing else in their profile - lately they've been showing up wearing ETD hair that wasn't made by Elika.

Here's my theory, and maybe I'm wrong but if you play SL and you're camping, you have plenty of time to fill out your profile with something witty. At the very least you've taken some of your hard earned lindens and bought yourself something pretty. But if you show up as Ruth, with a completely empty profile, in all freebie clothes - you're either a bot, or you're camping for the wrong reasons (IE you're trying to cash in your lindens to support your RL).

Believe it or not, I don't offer camping for 'just' the traffic. I enjoy helping out people who actually PLAY and want a few extra bucks for the Last Call sale.

Oh and yes, setting the camper to group only is an option that I might end up using.

Maybe I should just nuke the camper and start giving my daily camping allowance to random customers. =)

There is an unfreeze option on pie menu, just freeze is so short you never get to use it.

My JIRA for a 5minute freeze is here
http://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-3914
You can give freeze/eject or even ban powers to lowest tier staff or even members by editing their roles. On Estates, 2 groups can do it I think the Estate Group (owners) and the Land Group (tenants, staff or club members).
