You mean to tell me that there are people out there who aren't? Wow. Faints. I'm chucklin' I have credit & have had CC before. I just decided one day 8 years ago that the items I buy on sale with a CC aren't on sale after all. By the time you pay off the bill you've paid more for the item than the price before the sale. hahah I hope that made sense.

Of course it makes sense. But going through this exercise over the course of years to show that you are a reliable debtor instills trust in varying degrees that you'll actually pay the money back. I hope your credit will be good enough to buy a house if and when the time comes.

We are not generalizing...we're being very specific and talking about YOU.

We don't assume you are uneducated. You could have a Ph.D. Your education doesn't matter...what you are is STUPID, and we have been trying, as gently as possible, to point this out to you.

And yes, you ARE stubborn. We've suggested at least three solutions to you, (a debit card, a prepaid credit card, or a credit card that you pay off every month) and you refuse to even consider them. Instead you insist on cash...even when people have pointed out that cash has some serious drawbacks, like the ease with which it can be lost or stolen.

If you want to continue to be stupid and stubborn, that's your right. Just don't expect to be buying a lot of lindens any time soon, OK?

LOL, don't hold back Lindal, tell him what you really think!

Actually, thank you for telling him what I was thinking too...

Hmm.. I dunno about the Western Union Prepaid. You see, you have to have a physical US address to sign up, from reading their FAQ. And man, with the list of fees, it's cheaper to just get a mastercard/visa debit card from the bank!

Hmm, well when you can pay World of Warcraft subscription using poutlry as currency, the pre-banking history of the world might be relevant. Somehow kids from nearly every country in the world can get into WoW and most porn sites but adults can't figure out how to get into SL.

In Asia, where credit cards are less common than here in the US, you can get into WoW by buying prepaid WoW cards; they work like the prepaid telephone cards you can buy here in the US, but for game time. They don't bother to offer them in the US because credit (and debit) cards are uququitous here.

Huh, I could have sworn I saw some at my local Walmart, including someone buying them with their credit card, because they were paranoid about the card being on the internet.

And for the record, LL used to sell what was basically gift certificates for people to give to others to gift them with a premium account. Apparently there was either too much abuse or not enough sales, and it was terminated.

Saw WoW cards in Best Buy & Walmart. $30.

And thats how I became Premium- my fiancee bought me a Gift Certificate for Premium on Valentine's Day. Been keeping it up since. :)

I sit corrected. I didn't know they were offering them in the US now.

If Second Life ever has the critical mass of paying users to justify marketing such cards, we might get them also. Right now there are somewhere around 90,000 premium members (plus an unknown number of regular LindeX buyers), which pales compared to the millions that WoW has. And that 90,000 actually represents fewer human beings; some have more than one premium membership.

Why would anyone have more than one? First, if you have one of the old L$500 stipend ones and pay annually it's actually cheaper than buying the L$ on the open market; you could make a small profit by selling all your L$, which is one reason that LL cut the stipend rate. Second, it's handy if you're at one of the big tier breakpoints (quarter sim, half sim, one sim, 1.5 sims, etc.) and want just a LITTLE bit more land.

i'm sure someone mentiond this already but all paypal needed when i started my account was 25.00 in the account to be able to use your bank..you could i believe use a check online to open the account..but if you can get a debit card that will work just as well or better..i'm not sure if they use check online anymore but you could see..
..paypal won't use your debit or credit card when you go to purchase it only uses it from the bank to paypal so the place you are either buying from or like the lindens will never see your debit or credit card number..
it's safer than using them in the brick and mortar stores..i've had paypal going on close to 5 years and not one problem with it..
