Sounds like it may have been one of those "we need everyone off now" moments. Surprised they even did a blue box at all.

Well that explains the freezing on the log-in page. The opening page still says the Grid is online so I was quite confused, wasn't sure if the blog or if the welcome screen was right. Sorry they dumped everyone with no warning.

I know how you feel!!!!!

I can't believe that after all this time, they still can't get a handle on basic stability. Crashes, TP failures, freezing in-world,,,,. If it wasn't for the friends I've made, I'd leave! I pay too much in tier fess to have to deal with these constant issues.

Ah well,,,,. At least I got to blow off a bit of steam!!!

hah, wait till you've had the "grid is offline" on the loggin page for an hour and finally click connect just to be stuborn and get straight in :D

Though it would be nice if they updated the blog entry when they block logins, and not 15-20mins after. :(

OK

A broadcast message to thousands is not going to reach some as soon as others. Latency is a factor.

This time round I had about 2 minutes and still was not kicked before I jumped. Sometimes I've had blue box BANG too. Annoying, but unavoidable.

As to keeping it all running ... yeah lots of you complaining, don't see you all going off and doing a better job tho. Sorry people, but at the end of the day this this is WELL complicated and I am sure far more hassle than a lot of us know. I know how complex the things are where I work, and that we have the same issues on a smaller scale sometimes with the very best and most repsonsive - and experienced/competent - people we can get ...

Yes I am narked. I had finally just forced myself to put in the fine tuning on my build (I am a concept person) and ... blue box of death. Ah well.

***Usagi*** don't take it personally. There's a lot more people on here now, case closed. Yeah I miss the personal service but it's not a case of DISrespect either. More likely "ah crap pull the plug now pull it" "no we have to get a broadcast message out" "Ok do that but hurry, we have to kill this now before any more damage".

The sign of reaction if you ask me. Which no one did :) but rings true from my own workplace. Then, I am the one helping my team deal with the people calling us in a temper!

So that's US$0.007 per hour, or 18 cents if it's offline for an entire day. It could be much worse. If it was off for a week you'd lose US$1.25, or 63p. In a month it would be GBP 2.71. If SL is down for a year you'll be GBP32.85, which is nearly a pint of beer in London : - )

I take issue with this. You could get a pint and a half now - so are you assuming the price of a pint in a year's time? In which case, I have no issue. :)

Did Phil tell you this personally, or are you paraphrasing? You might want to hang on to the day job for another week or so, just till sales pick up a bit!

*chortles* Camping doesn't pay too well, does it? Just kidding! *runs away*

I'm glad they took it down, rather than let me get in and started on building. Losing out on logging in is infinitely less annoying than losing time that have I have worked.

I can afford to be kinda happy with this.. I wasn't even in world when they kicked everyone out. I do think they need to give a five minutes heads up, though. Five minutes is more than enough time to grab a copy and say bye!

wonder how long it takes to get 50 campbots all going milking someones camp chairs?

Also wonder how much work is involved in keeping them camping away.

How many zombie bots does it take before it becomes a full time job?
