( In most of the FORUMS I visit on the web they have one 'category' like "Forum Café" or something - where you can be silly all you want! In this forum I think 'Residents answers' is the 'silly place' along with serius questions and answers... I really like to be silly... So I'm starting a silly answer-question-thread... ** RULES ** 1) You have to start your post with an answer to the prior posts question! 2) You have to end your post with a new question! ** END RULES ** I'll start by adding Answers & Questions in a few posts myself! ) _________________________________ Q: Do you think this forum should have a 'Silly Café category'?

In this forum I think 'Residents answers' is the 'silly place' along with serius questions and answers... Actually, we don't so much have a "silly" category, though you will find a lot of silliness in the "please ignore and let this one die" thread. You will also find a lot of overall laxness to stick to "Resident Answers" here, due to some on-again-and-off-again moderation.

In this forum I think 'Residents answers' is the 'silly place' along with serius questions and answers... Actually, while this forum did have "General Discussion" back in the day, LL axed it. We have no "silly" forum, though sometimes lax moderation does cause the siliness quotient to be high. There is one thread that is off form the "Resident Answers" format, called "Just Ignore This and Let It Die." Mari

From: Olila Oh A: Yes I am! Q: Is SL sex like Phone-Sex... Or better? As former Phone sex worker in real life. I think it just as bad or worse because you have to see it and they have your avatar name and look you up any time afterwards. Phone sex workers get to be anonymous and no client or "trick" has their contact information but often the pay depending on what agency you work for is just as bad, you might get only 33 cents for only one call per shift. Sort of sort of like camping in sl but with a whole of grunting in rl. So probably they are equally just as bad. Either way the person on other side often doesn't care what you want or need, expects you to fulfill their fantasies and has no interest in your own but still expects you to get them off. Do you know if Resident answers can go pee for me when I am too tired to go??

Seriously, if you want to play games, find the thread referenced above. All of us are trying to be sure that this forum doesn't get closed down, and to date, the overlords have allowed that thread to carry on...but have been less than tolerant of threads such as these.

We get a few silly questions and rather more silly answers on this forum as it is. I'm guilty of posting a few myself. As long as the silliness is only occasional and is not used to trivialise a serious matter, I think it's OK.

From: Iain Sullivan A: I have been known to jump on a poseball many moons ago Q: Are the peasants here revolting No, just mildy unpleasant. "baddum-tish" Now take my mother-in-law. No, seriously, take her. If Whoopi Goldberg were, hypothetically, to marry Peter Cushing, do you think she'd keep her maiden name?

The forums are going to out sourced at sometime in the not to distant future anyways and why is the never ending thread allowed to continue while other threads as you say are shut down?? Hmmmm Double standards again in the forums

Answer: Seriously, HoneyBear.. "All of us are trying to be sure that this forum doesn't get closed down".. bla, bla, bla! Don't you get the IRONY..Come ON! What YOU SAID is actually my POINT!! When I get into 'Resident Answers the thread-topics are 'WHATEVER'. Don't get me wrong.. I love the 'Silly Threads'!!! That's why I think maybe a 'SL Café Place' would be nice! Question: Hmmm.... Are peasants here revolting? Prefer popcorn or chips when reading silly blogposts?

We had a forum place but they closed it in October 2006 as the forums got to rowdy for LL it was riotous and fun as many there will attest to Answer: Some are while eating popcorn or chips Question: Will we ever get decent forum category choices from LL? ( Well it is a silly question )

A:
1 to change the light bulb and to post that the light bulb has been changed 14 to share similar experiences of changing light bulbs and how the light bulb could have been changed differently 7 to caution about the dangers of changing light bulbs 1 to move it to the Lighting section 2 to argue then move it to the Electricals section 7 to point out spelling/grammar errors in posts about changing light bulbs 5 to flame the spell checkers 3 to correct spelling/grammar flames 6 to argue over whether it's "lightbulb" or "light bulb" ... another 6 to condemn those 6 as stupid 2 industry professionals to inform the group that the proper term is "lamp" 15 know-it-alls who claim they were in the industry, and that "light bulb" is perfectly correct 19 to post that this forum is not about light bulbs and to please take this discussion to a lightbulb forum 11 to defend the posting to this forum saying that we all use light bulbs and therefore the posts are relevant to this forum 36 to debate which method of changing light bulbs is superior, where to buy the best light bulbs, what brand of light bulbs work best for this technique and what brands are faulty 7 to post URL's where one can see examples of different light bulbs 4 to post that the URL's were posted incorrectly and then post the corrected URL's 3 to post about links they found from the URL's that are relevant to this group which makes light bulbs relevant to this group 13 to link all posts to date, quote them in their entirety including all headers and signatures, and add "Me too" 5 to post to the group that they will no longer post because they cannot handle the light bulb controversy 4 to say "didn't we go through this already a short time ago?" 13 to say "do a Google search on light bulbs before posting questions about light bulbs" 1 forum lurker to respond to the original post 6 months from now and start it all over again.
Q.
How many forum members does it take to change a light bulb?

From: Porky Gorky 1 to change the light bulb and to post that the light bulb has been changed.....
Porky - That was brilliant! You are so cynical. But you missed out a few. 1 to tell us about her shop that sells wonderful light bulbs. 20 who got nothing to say but say "IBTL" anyway. 1 to tell us how she got ARd by a jealous woman just for helping a guy to change a light bulb. 1 newby asking what a light bulb is. 100 scornful replies explaining. Has he missed anything else folks?
