be careful doing anything, I just found out there is database issues again, not sure of the extent of the issues

I seriously do not understand the series of issues lately with second life, didn't they upgrade their asset servers a while ago? wasn't that suposed to fix all these problems.
Are they using acme servers or old compaq servers? Are their HD's WD? are they just not feeding hte hamsters??? frustration.. im rezzing a bottle of skyy in rl. I feel sorry for every business in SL from the campers to the mile high escorts. Noone is making any money on sl. Why are we going to bother to stay?? |

I dont know what the actual answer is.. I just know LLs response was at best...flaccid. That's a very good way to put it, and now I know why we still haven't seen the promised blog entry... ...the Lindens are still waiting for their shipment of Lie-agra to come in to firm up their flaccid reasoning. |

Wait no, they eventually rezzed and my cerulean blues are back with healthy corneas. Better to see that I'm BALD! And that my nose ring disappeared! /me inserts "GAHHHHHHHH!!!!!" So much for my exciting trip to Bay City. Spent 30 minutes dodging cars while trying to figure out where they allow building, only to get there and not only fail to rez my car and motorcycle but my hair too?!  _____________________

Never figured out why it happend thank goodness the creater was cool enough to send me another pair. **edit** not today this was months ago And my friend was having texture issues when he took off his shiit his lower body and his arms were black. (today this happend) also his pants from the leg down was black. |

[UPDATE 10:30 PM Pacific] Operations is continuing to assess the slowdown. They’re sufficiently engaged in the effort that getting more details from them at the moment would be a counterproductive distraction. We’ll ask them for more information when possible, and a follow up post when the slowdown is cleared.

These asset issues are ridiculous but I'm not surprised. They said yesterday they were supposed to be doing something to fix these problems. In Linden terms that means "make it worse".
I'd like to see a lengthy in depth reason for all the antics of the asset servers. Things have been near stagnate for almost a year now in regards to online concurrency, so Linden Lab can't blame it on growth any more. Stuff just simply fails, and fails, and fails. Maybe Linden Lab is trying to kill Second Life deliberately. Maybe it has served its purpose (cash cow) and is no longer of any use to Linden Lab. But they can't just flip the switch and turn it off, because there would be a huge number of very angry people, and a lot of very bad press, if they did that. So they have to make it suck so much that people leave to the point that they can then step in and say "due to funding issues caused by lack of interest, we have to close SL". Ok, probably nuts, I know. But I can't help but wonder. |
