From: Jasmine Usher If the gestures are outta control, i'm out. As for the shoe noises..... Annoying~ Respect the music, respect the artist, respect the people around you~, take your clackied clack off, and don't bog up the chat with gestures so that no one can see anything in the room because the chat box has taken over the screen. Yes, I forgot about the clacking shoes. I have a pair myself and found THEM annoying to me. That's when I turned that feature off. I agree with Jasmine, respect the music, respect the artists and folks around you.

From: Czari Zenovka A few times I've gone to clubs I normally wouldn't to support a particular DJ. When the gestures start, I mute the person. It almost becomes a game in IM with me and my partner - "How many people will NOT be on our mute list by the end of the evening...lol." At one club, the only ones left were the DJ and his date - but I only came to hear the DJ anyway so I was happy. hah, I've played the same game, for the exact same reasons. I do find them useful for binding script command to a hotkey (and no it's not public chat)

From: Keira Wells That's one thing that I love about SL, it has various sound layers that you can mute selectively. One weird thing is that the mute feature already has the necessary functionality, but the mute list floater was never updated to reflect that. You can mute someone's text and/or voice chat and/or particles and/or sounds, but the regular mute is just an "all of the above". In most case I don't want to actually mute the person, just get rid of their annoying particles and/or sounds without turning particles or sounds off altogether. (There's a placeholder for muting groups as well, but it's not ever been actually hooked up to anything *rolls eyes*)

From: Czari Zenovka When the gestures start, I mute the person. It almost becomes a game ... My sentiments exactly: it's what the 'Mute' button is for. I can appreciate the humour in repetition: 'The Fast Show' currently repeated on BBC Prime around 22.00 hours GMT on Friday nights (I think) was very successful in building comedy out of relentlessly repetitive catch phrases applied in situations that were often repetitive in and of themselves. Watch one episode for the first time and you will very likely be puzzled about where the jokes are. Watch several and you will split your sides laughing (unless of course your sense of humour has been amputated). Nevertheless, there is a very fine line between eliciting a quick snicker in RL with a famous quote that instantly sums up your reaction or becoming an utterly annoying bore when you do it a little too often - especially when everyone else seems to be doing likewise. Gestures are an exact corollary of this behaviour in SL.
