This is a good post, can you run 2 different tvs on on eland, like i mean a paid for stream (like @home) and free tv?

you can only run one media stream per parcel
so you could effectively divide the parcels into a couple small pieces and put a TV on each and then set the streams in the media tab for each

This is actually a complicated question. A script can in fact show different streams to different people on the same parcel at the same time. So *in theory* one avatar could be watching paid-for TV while another watches free TV. But most TVs in-world aren't scripted for that, so instead everyone will just see whichever stream was last pushed onto the media settings, parcel-wide.

But any one viewer gets only one media stream at a time, and only for the parcel on which the agent is standing. So setting up different TVs with different streams on different parcels works only to the extent one is willing to move around across parcels. Using the more advanced scripting mechanism described above, one could use some other means (touch, for example) to indicate which stream should appear, but still only on that agent-occupied parcel.

OK, my place is set up and I'm going out tonight to get a television and DVD player.

Probably a set that picks up SLCN too; the DVD player has to be able to accept URLs for individual movies I care to rent by the week, regardless of whether it comes with a bunch of flicks inside it already.

Who has an SLCN capable TV with a DVD player of this type on their own land, and can tell me who makes them and whatever else they thik I should know?

I'll be picking this stuff up tonight before I go for the weekend.
