Woah where the hell did I say ban Christmas? I don't like it, therefore I decided to cut the commercialized crap out of MY life. You do what you want. I am an atheist,so Christmas obviously holds no religious meaning to me. Though I do respect people of all religions and would never tell anyone what they should or should not believe. My dislike of Christmas, has nothing at all to do with religion. But everything to do with my credit card bills and the television spouting BUY ME for two months before hand. The pressure to buy people presents that they will probably never use. etc...

Did you see the part where I said "this isn't to you Rioko, just around the topic"?

I was actually agreeing with you on the commercial aspect as well.

Well, I know its about 10 or 15% of us, Prolly more. It's increasing. Dont confuse dementia with Alzheimers. They are NOT the same thing.

Not confused one bit. Thanks for the concern.

Hope Dr. Jig will pardon if some of our faith in her "diagnosis" is a bit lacking.

That was my statistical analysis. I can die with a clear conscience if this forum finds me at fault. If you want to be pissed at Jig for wishing you a happy celebratory season, please do enjoy.

My tree does smell divine. I can't wait to untangle the lights and begin decorating.

Sorry:p Just woke up from a nap. I'm feisty. :o I think a lot of people miss the meaning of Christmas(whether your religious or not,I believe the point of the holiday is good will and wishes to all) and seem to think it's about who can buy the biggest and best-est. Ever year it seems to start earlier and earlier too. You start seeing Christmas Decorations on the shelves in September! It's crazy. I miss the small simple but wonderful Christmases(?) I had as a child. Where my whole family would get together, partake in some eggnog, eat all kinds of great food and just spend the day together. The presents were not a huge part of the day. Just a small one.

Who said I was angry at Jig? I'm not. Never have been.

I love people wishing each other well in any form. And I love the Christmas season.

I just get tired of digs at religion (I'm talking about the world *outside* the forums now, Lol) and sourmouths in general. The season brings out the angels, the Santas and the grinches as well.

What I looked at skeptically was Jig's analysis of other members here, and sometimes her insults on things no one can help - like aging. (Dementia also isn't "funny" btw. Not for anyone who's had a relative suffer from it.)

Hee! (I can so identify.)

And I agree with every word above 110%. Even in SL I waited 'til after Thanksgiving to put out a single Christmas-y thing, I've tried to keep public land things non religious-y so all can feel welcome as possible (it's, in RL, people *telling* others not to that bugs me); as well as waiting to put out the stockings 'til the 24th and "the" Tree 'til the 25th. I like things old-fashioned-y.

At my av's house though I wouldn't mind finding a really beautiful creche; just can't in SL, so far.

Awww, where were you in real when my headmistress summoned my parents to a "meeting" and I was in real trouble?
You would have taken me and hugged me, I know it. Seriously. And prolly let me drink and smoke and make out and fool around. Teenage Bliss!

Nope, I am a hard-ass. The meanest of the mean. A long, long line of military brats that would have had you doing rifle practice, runs, squats and push ups.

Never mind, the 6 th has passed. C'mere, little, it's CHRISTMAS! Smile :) We would have dealt with your indiscretions later, lol.

Ok. I wouldn't have pointed that out had it not appeared to be the case to reader.

Yep. That has been my genuine and sole involvement in this thread. Up to now.

Dunno. I am all about Santa. The rest eludes me.

I know Jig well enough, at risk of any lawsuit to say she meant no harm at all. She has been a familial victim of dementia. (Your acting as though you are a sole authority on suffering surrounding dementia is naive. Very much so.)

etc etc etc. You'll be very happy or sad or whatever that my time zone precludes a continuation of this discussion.

Well, it looks like I have "saved" Christmas again and Melita and Laurin are smiling once more. Controlling people is a forte of mine and it just goes to show that deep down people just wanna have the opportunity to share love but in a responsible way.
Also, I must admit a tremendous excitement for a friend in real who performs tonight somewhere in the world and she called me and she's all excited about what she's gonna do and how teh audience will react. And they'll love it and it'll be great for her.
Strange things are happening in the world - I can feel it. We're connecting. Really.
Now please, please (coz soon I must go, too) PLEASE heaven hear me! make this one a good one for us all and bring some joy into all our lives. Amen.
Jiggy.

Laurin, did you just come up from the wine cellar?????

In real, my mum's weathervane has just blown down in a gust of wind, so she's out there with a flashlight on the lawn looking for a rampant dophin.

Better call her and see waz 'appening (she's 4000 miles away)

I found a bottle of Mead my Dad had been given when he visited a Trad Booze place in Midlands and did some work for them.
Wow, was that stuff potent.
