I have decided to have a bit of a change, which means i want to be Brunette (think chocolate brown). But allmy favoutie hair store in SL, well their textures from brown hair are lifeless. Thay have no shine, no feeling of naturalness to them texture wise. I used to wear black hair so it didnt matter...

If you want an example of the kinid of textures im looking at TP to abyss. Theyhave the colour (Dark Ash) and quality of the textures im looking for. However their collection is small and I have the hair i like fromtheir already...

Any ideas folks?

Hmm... contact the people from the reference you gave and ask them if they have new models in the making? Or perhaps they would be willing to make you something to your own specifications...

I recently bought a pack of brown hairs and I wanted a darker brown, so I tinted them with grey. Did the trick, but had the unintended result that they also looked better. Seemed to add shine and "health". Probably won't work for all brown hair, but did the trick with my Celestial Studio hair.

Damsel Fly (I think thats how its spelt and written) has some shiny, floaty...sort of hair...worth a look (not keen on their BIG hair styles tho, I go for the more natural looking ones)

I like GuRLyWood - lots of Brunette styles & colors there.

Only in SL - add a little GREY and it looks better! Lol!

Try Analog Dog, a lot of their hair you can tint a little, and as far as texture (shine, highlight etc) I love it.

(hair in my siggy is Analog Dog)

ARMIDI

Best hair in SL. Most realistic styles and textures...just not enough choice for men (HINT HINT ARMIDI)

Also Boon is good too

Yeeks...thumbs down on Armidi, for me. I love their shoes, like many of their clothes...don't think much of the hair.

But that's just my opinion.

For me, Damselfly, Cake, Laqroki, A&K, and Analog Dog are all better than Armidi for hair. Bewitched has some good stuff, too. So does ETD. Zero Style is very good, especially if you like Japanese or anime styles.

For amazingly realistic curls that look gorgeous in all colours but especially brunettes, try Jolie Femme. McGeeb Gupta has stunning shiny hand drawn textures in her hair. The wavy and straight styles are good too, but her curls are the best I've seen.

Try Bishwear, their browns are gorgeous, and the have quite a few exotic as well as "tame" hairstyles.

Loves Armidi, waiting for new styles(seconds the hint hint)
ETD has a beautiful set of brunette shades as well.

Cake's colors can be funky - but they are all copy mod so you can fix that.

Sirena has nice textures.

If realistic hair is that hair based on sculptures (or whatever they are called), then I have to say I disagree. Maybe it is just me, the movements of that kind hair are so unnatural in my opinion.... but as said, that is what I think :)

So I stay with my 2005 prim based hair.... I don't need anything else.

For me, it doesn't get any better than Analog Dog! Curly or straight, her textures (shine and realism) out perform anyone else on the grid. The movement is also incredible. I am wearing AD hair in my avi pic! ;)

maybe not as realistic as some, but I like calla....

I have found the more "realistic" they are the more Bleed thgough against other transparent images they have....

and what is with lately when people are on pose balls their hair goes byebye for a while???? I was at a venue and this really cute couple were dancin and every time they turned both of them went bald for a sec or two.

Thanks for the suggestions folks. I have found one or two hair styles I like but overall I have been VERY disappointed in thebrwon textures avaliable for hair. Most look dull and lifeless and like my hair is in good need of a treatment.

Have you tried Truth or Novocaine? Truth is having a sale at the moment, 50L per colour pack, good time to go there.

I'll second Bishwear, although I admit to only having their reddish brown, or auburn, & not a true brown. It is the most realistic hair, though, in terms of movement and natural shine I own, and I own some of everything mentioned. :/

eep.
