Oooh like those cute little nested dolls, one inside the other? How trippy would THAT be, to walk into a Kremlin on a sim, just to find another, smaller one inside of it, until finally you had to crawl through the main doors...

/me wonders if Oryx could finally catch that moose and squirrel.

lol - Hey Rocky! Watch me pull a rabbit out of my hat!

Man. Cartoons these days suck compared to what we had as kids.

Oryx would look cute in a mink coat and Russian fur hat. I vote for Communism.

I always liked "The Fractured Fairytales, and "Clyde Crashcup".

The average person votes the way thier parents did. Too few even know what platforms the different parties represent, much less the individual candidates.

Quit voting for political parties.
Educate yourself.
Vote intellegently.
USA is a Republic, not a Democracy. Become part of the elite or follow what they say. The choice is yours.

Quite agree, (except for the last part - don't know enough about US politics to make comments).

There's nothing wrong about debating ideas, in RL or SL. If you can find a group of people open enough to not only listen to themselves speaking, but also willing to listen to others, it can be very fun. You may even surprise yourself by changing your views on things you thought you never would. Political discussions can get a little heated, but if you find the right group of people, it can be an awesome way to learn (and even 'enlighten' others, hehe).

In RL I call these (political) groups of people my friends and family. We mostly all vote differently, and for different reasons, and when we do get into discussions about politics they can be very loud, lol. But I'd like to think their different views made me rethink my own, and vice versa.

I prefer discussion to blindly voting. Getting some information via television and newspapers is fine, but you're not meant to stop there.

I have two created male alts in SL but I keep forgetting their names....but, if I had a male alt now he would say:

It is is a common insult to refer to the Democratic Party as the Democrat Party (see Pres. Bush ) therefore, it makes sense to counter by calling Republicans, Repugs. Ms Bloxome was simply giving tit for tat.

We in America live in a glorious democracy, hence , those who criticize Ms Bloxome for expressing her political views, are fascists.

President Bush lied us into a trillion dollar war which has cost the Iraqis a million lives, not to mention soon to be 4,000 American service people. Say what you will about Ms Bloxome's politics, there is something obscene in this, no? at least allow, she may have a tiny point.
Ms Bloxome supports Senator Obama for the Presidency.

Where does the million Iraqi deaths number come from?

I'm looking at neutral as well as anti-war sources and seeing a number more like 100,000. Terrible, yes, but a lot less than a million.

We don't live in a democracy, it is a republic.

Obama 08, because saying hope and change enough times will hide the fact that you are just a LBJ retread.

I having lived in the USA a number of years would like to add that it is fast becoming a socialistic republic right under our very noses. (Something smells very bad)

One of the (not the only) reasons I am in SL is to experience a non political environment, and I will be damned if anyone in SL shoves politics my way. (I shove back).

Robert A. Heinlein the late science fiction writer had an interesting political POV that I can appreciate. And that's all I have to say...

I don't even know if he is an LBJ retread. he doesn't say what he will change or what he hopes to do, just rhetoric.I have no idea what he stands for on Core issues. I'm not a big supporter of Hilarity Clinton, but at least I have some idea of her agenda. Obama is flashing his grin and talking in vague generalities, the people are falling for it, (well maybe not DMX) and the media is giving him a pass.

Frankly, if you don't know the meaning of the word fascist yet insist on using it, your grasp of politics is probably just as flawed.

Well I was in Red Square taking pictures. That is the only one I could find that showed a building. I suppose I could have posted the one that showed Lenin's dead body in the glass casket.

I think we actually live in a Republic that is a democracy.

While we don't live in a "direct democracy", other uses of the term could apply. The Republicans love to use that phrase you just repeated because it implies the Democrats are somehow less valid.

I don't know how we could claim that Jefferson and the other men of his Era who formed the Democratic party had such a poor grasp on Government types that they named the party something that wasn't relevant to our political system.

We do live in a democracy because each person gets to vote in the political process. And nominally each persons vote is equal. There is no government coercion on how we vote, there is no threat to life or liberty involved.

Of course that democratic process is used to elect representatives who serve the democracy in the form of a Republic.

LBJ never actually ran for president (through the whole process at least). I'll have to do more research on how they would be the same.

(Edit - Hmm my mistake he did run in 1964 in the wake of the Kennedy assassination - which is a bit different.)

Why is he compared to LBJ? LBJ was a Washington insider with a reputation for getting things done. Obama hardly has any experience at all.
