Clothing for Sailing/Boating?

Does anyone have any good places to go for women's sailing/boating clothing? Looking for shorts, tops, sneakers/deck shoes, windbreakers, etc. Not bathing suits, I have plenty of those. And not professional gear, I'm not the one sailing the boat, I just need to look cute on it :-)

Thanks!

have you tried SL exchange to see what comes up on a search there? also a search in world? and maybe even check out some of the new products listed in the forums?

(If I had a sailing outfit I would be plugging my own store)

I just thought I could get some tips to cut down my search time, since I'm going to be sailing tomorrow afternoon, and will be tied up until then. Won't be able to spend a lot of time searching before my sail date, will have just enough time to make a purchase (hopefully!)

I will take a look at SLexchange - I've never used it before.

Elora, I can recommend a pullover shop in Meeting Support. I'll try and commit the name to memory one day but all I remember is 'Mari'. Catch me in-world and I'll send an lm.
some lovely textures and patterns and resizable polo necks :)

Hey, everybody! Elora's gonna be deck candy! :D

Aside from a bathing suit, the best clothing I've found for SL sailing is scuba gear...because sooner or later, a sim crossing's likely to put you on the ocean floor.

Sailing's fun...but about as risky as a ride with Trout.

Eh? I think the OP wanted to find clothes that were suitable for *sailing* :)
But then, this is SL, and we are allowed to be outrageous, so maybe I can restrain myself from throwing dead fish at people who wear that sort of thing on a boat.

Me thinks she is doing more than sailing...
I also find it funny she has a "breast cancer aware" title. I think she should have a skin cancer aware title too!

Umm, deck candy sounds good to me!
If I go swimming, I'm changing into a mermaid :-)
And what's so risky about riding w/Trout? I have yet to even meet up w/him in person.

Thanks Bilbo - hopefully I'll have a few moments to do that. Or send me an IM now, so that I don't forget when I log on. Thanks!

Try Vitamin Ci. They have some nice casual beachy stuff. Little Rebel as well.

Thanks Nika, I'll take a look :-)

I took a look, was having trouble for some reason bring up the pages but what I saw were cute. Loved the "Starboard Dress", may not be completely appropriate but with a pair of sneakers, could work. It is my taste. Thanks for the links!

Trout, don't you DARE take advantage of this sweet young thing's trusting innocence!

Here, honey, if he offers you a biplane ride, you'd better wear this
/me hands Elora a parachute.

Oh, don't worry about me Lindal, not so sweet or innocent :-)
But thanks for the parachute, could come in handy should I choose to engage in some Dolcett with Trout...hehe

Elora, Head to Nantucket. I don't know if it has specifically what you are looking for, but the whole sim is a beautiful recreation of the real Nantucket with lots of great shops. I even saw a nautical-themed one, so there may be some related clothing.

...Trout, like I said, don't you DARE get yourself gutted, fileted, and grilled by this sweet, innocent, trusting young thing. :D

Marin, thanks for reminding me about that Sim. I found it when I first arrived in SL, and totally forgot about it! It makes perfect sense that I'd find what I need there.

If you do, be sure to serve applesauce with it

Dolcett, hmm? I think I would only eat Trout if he really WAS a fish, and served with a nice lemon/butter/white wine sauce.

Wait a minute. I thought we were eating Bilbo. Trout is bad for you. What with people fertilizing their lawns, trout meat is full of heavy metals and nitrates. Or nitrites. Whichever one is bad for you.

I should get a sailboat. Sailing sounds like fun. I looked at them a couple times, but I never pulled the trigger and got one. Especially now with all those open water sims around the hangout, it would be a blast to get a couple folks and go sailing.

I spent some time with a buddy who races sailboats. I was in it for the beer. They didn't call me deck candy, though. I think the term they used was "rail meat".

I prefer mine lightly breaded and sauteed in EVOO with lots of garlic.

 History repeats itself.

Trout, if you get a sailboat, I'll go for a ride with you. But I'm bringing my parachute. No, I mean my scuba gear. Maybe both, just to be on the safe side. :D

Sailing is a blast. There's a free tako (of an older model) on the dock at Nantucket, I believe - takos are little class boats kinda like a Soling. They do allow you to sail "by the wind" instead of by attaching it and "walking". Try out the freebie b4 you buy - or get one of we many sailors at the hangout to take you out for a spin!
