Here's a plan.

Hit on women.
When they reject you, you say. "That's all right. Your partner hired me to check if you were being unfaithful. I can go back now and report that there is no problem."
The woman will be delighted at this, because she is in truth running a number of relationships.
She will discreetly pass your name around to her friends who are also unfaithful to their partners. You will gain a discreet reputation as a PI who is really easy to fool.

What happens then?
A partner suspects that their love is unfaithful.
They would ask the loved ones friends if she is seeing somebody else. They will cover for their friend and say "I don't know - but there there's this *really great detective* who could check her out."
When you get the job, you go through the motions and report back that everything is OK.

Everybody will be happy.
The unfaithful partner will be relived that her partner has been thrown off the scent.
The cuckolded partner will be happy that their love is faithful.
You get paid to spread this happiness.

You also get to hit on lots of women - as a marketing exercise - putting your name about in the right quarters.
When women reject you, you have a face-saving cover story.

Plus -
During your marketing exercise, you might meet a wonderful woman who will become your love and will be unfaithful to you.

Ooh!
You can be unfaithful to her without getting into much trouble because you explain that it is your work. You hate it, but somebody's got to fo it.

Make a female alt and do it with the sexes reversed. Be brave. Be strong. If a guy succumbs to your female PI charms, you could always crash or something.

Win/Win/Win!!! Love it!

Hey Avguste....if you don't use this suggestion.....can I run with it? Or....we could partner up....are you male? I could do the female version.

All fine and good, but anyone knows I could look?

Honestly, I'd think being able to use Search well enough to find this information would probably be a prerequisite for the job.

Yes, funny you should say that. I was reading about one such only a few hours ago . . .

Take heart. It's more dignified than being a mere "fangirl." :D

I'm sure we could get you to at least Evil ArchFeminist status or something like that with very little trouble.

A bit of spandex, a pepperspray and taser attack... a few incidents that make the papers... you would be all set :)

Nice thinking. I have most of the "Evil ArchFeminist" shtick down pat, but I've obviously been going for the wrong costume. Time to exchange my ham suit for spandex! Whipppee!

The previous comment about being wary of the TOS is worth paying attention to.

You are not allowed to pass around chat logs or IM logs within secondlife.com or in-world. If LL catches you doing that, which is pretty likely if the person you're tracking complains, they will not be amused.

you can pass open chat around

Yeah. Stick with overhyped, overlong CGI films with preachy plots that are nothing but recycled video game ideas.

Ahhh, Jessica Rabbit, role model to a generation of girls, at least.

"I'm not bad, it's just drawn that way"

Now it's "I'm not bad, I'm just rendered that way"

Holmes wouldn't take on such typical PI cases.

He would only be on the trail of say, evil land barons plotting ridiculously arcane, complex schemes to tip the balance of the entire metaverse in their favour.

Peta Wilson was the best thing about that movie. So glad there won't be another, except that she can't reprise the role.

The best thing about that movie is there won't be a sequel.

Oh, I sooooo agree.

Jeremy Brett will forever be the ONLY Sherlock Holmes.

That said, I didn't hate the new movie as much as I thought I would. But way too violent, not enough deduction, and, sorry, Irene Adler was NOT a supercriminal.

Noooo!

Basil Rathbone was SO sexy!

I had SUCH a crush on him when I was a kid. I would look forward to Wednesday afternoons when the old Sherlock Holmes films were on.

And don't even get me started on Robin Hood - I know who I was cheering on, heh
