Of all the forums I have been involved with, people are always nice, I guess I need to get out more.

All the previous forums I'd been a part of prior to SL were generally nice as well.

You want mean and nasty forums? Might I recommend going down to the archive section and take a look at the General Discussions forum? I dunno how much of it might have finally got chopped out, but.... *shudders*

And yes, I've been to a lot worse forums. Even the archived stuff is pretty tame compared to some I've seen.

I joined Xstreet to check it out and whilst I was there I checked out the forums and they're horrible over there. Lots more fighting, bickering and bullying going on, I don't dare to post!

You should've seen those forums during the presidential election...

Some of you people should venture onto Newsgroups if you think Forums are bad, newsgroups generally have no moderators, you cheeze off people people there and someone will take a picture you post, search your rego plate and devulge your full name address, kids details and google earth/streetview links.

My experience of internet forums generally - not just to do with virtual worlds, is that there is a lot of nastiness, trolling and flaming. I should imagine it probably even happens on flower arranging forums....like "WTF would you use a vase like that for, moron?" sort of thing

These SL forums are generally quite mild and civilised, which suits me as I always try to be nice to people. I did belong to Second Citizen for a while - it was full of nastiness - I think it's gone now, hasn't it?

*checks* Yep, it seems they did finally get around to taking out the *really* vivid ones. Some were prefect examples of why LL decided on a "no naming names to troll, flame or otherwise defame," rule. It made baby Lindens cry.

I was on Second Citizen too, until it closed. I think I decided to lurk for the most part. Also on SLU, but the official forums will be my home until they pry it's corpse off the boards.
