I joined Xstreet to check it out and whilst I was there I checked out the forums and they're horrible over there. Lots more fighting, bickering and bullying going on, I don't dare to post!

Of all the forums I have been involved with, people are always nice, I guess I need to get out more.

This forum is extremely mild and nice compared to almost every other forum I have ever been involved in.

Really, I have never been involved in any horrible ones. When I first joined here, I commented in a thread about bots and was accused of being Phil's sister, I didn't even know what a bot was lol

This place is overboard on lots of rules and a suspension from here means suspension from in world so people play pretty nice here. ;)

Bot threads are almost always guaranteed to get heated.

Oh really? Got a link for the updated policy because that would be just nifty if they changed that long standing rule.

Sorry but this is not true. A ban from here CAN lead to temporary bans in world and even permanently loosing your account.

Discipline
Be respectful. Please challenge opinions, state your own and enjoy the discussion, but do not cross the line into personal attacks and insults because you will risk having your Second Life account suspended or banned. We believe that in-world and forum behavior are linked and behavior carries across the boundary. This means if you are suspended or banned in-world you are also suspended or banned from the forums, and vice versa

Message board forums are funny things, I think SOME (note .. not all ..lol ) people who do not relate well to others in real life, take out all there angst on who ever happens to be in the firing line on the message board.... You cannot take it personally.

A bot is the term used for a SL account that is being run from a remote program (libsl based). For instance, to increase traffic count some will log in a bunch of "bots" to sit in a skybox and make their business appear more popular then it is. That is just one example.

A bot does not log in with the normal SL viewer. It runs of an external program. Since it does not require as many resources as a normal viewer you can log in quite a few at one time with no performance issues on your PC.

That is a short non-techy answer.

I dunno. How many people post in bots threads or about bots. I keep discovering new relatives almost every day.

Most of the forums I've been involved with have been mostly peaceful because they are moderated well. It's poor moderation and even non-moderated forums that are allowed to sink into unpleasantness. This forum is very poorly moderated.
