And the incorrect opinion expressed in that short simple sentence is the principal reason men don't buy more stuff.

Pep (real men don't eat quiche, nor buy "genderless" stuff)

*Walks away hoping this was just a joke*

Opinions are inherently neither correct nor incorrect...they are simply opinions.

But, unless your clothing has genitals, it IS genderless. :p

Actually, it is sexless. Having genitals is a matter of sex, which chromosomes you are born with XX or XY. Gender is related to language and even inanimate objects can have gender. Boats and cars are female, for example, even though neither of them have genitals.

No, they aren't. You can call them 'she' all you want, but that doesn't actually make them female.

I am bumping you to an 8.5 on the Official Trout Measuring Instrument of Sluttiness. You are an enigma - on the one hand a sweet, gentle, intelligent woman who we would like to wrap up in our arms and protect, and on the other, a temptress to whom we would like to do all sorts of unmentionable things.

Congratulations and shame on you! You are a bit of a slut.

In respect to gender, it does.

You'll never convince me of that, so let's just drop it, hmmm?

lol @ "on parole".

They just released three men's styles yesterday that I thought were kinda cute anyway.

And some women like the paroled man look.

*pokes tongue at Leo*

I bow to the über-shopper! You are correct: the new men's hair from Damselfy is pretty good.

(But all men are mystified — or this one is — what is the attraction to a man who can be hauled back into gaol at the first hint of wrongdoing………oops! answered my own question!)

This is a stolen item.

Well, then thank me for calling it to your attention. ;-)

I'm not the designer and I don't shop on On Rez let alone post there. If you have proof it is a stolen item, no one's stopping you from doing something about it, right?

All I did was post things that seemed to fit what the person said their friend was searching so hard for.

There does seem to be very few short/conservative/businessman type hairstyles out there. Most of it looks like 'boyband' stuff or 'biker' stuff, which is great but does leave a large part of the market untapped. So I was just tryin' to help, 'kay?

haha I wasn`t being rude!

I try not to post on forums much because my writing tone tends to be taken ENTIRELY out of context.

I did not expect you to know it was stolen, nor did I assume you were promoting thievery which is why I called it out, so that people would know it was ripped from the original creator. :)

Ok but (thanks for explaining that) it seemed so terse that's why I took it that way I guess.

Still, the person on On Rez isn't here to defend themself. Just saying it's stolen, it isn't clear what your info is etc.

An opinion is "simply an opinion" until it is proven or disproven as correct. The original opinion has been proven incorrect. Of course, it's a free world and you are quite at liberty to still believe it is flat . . .

Presumably with eyes closed and covering your ears to stick your head back in the sand.

Pep (And still wondering why real men don't bother shopping in sl)

I dunno, my guess would be that there's too much for them to wade through. It gets tiring for me too and I'm a rl and sl female who loves shopping in both (more easy, affordable and fun in sl though for most of us). Even with so many choices and fun things to buy for female avs there is a lot of junk out there, too.

If their reward ratio is 1 good hair in 100 or more viewed, I can't blame them for tiring of it.

Uncleweb and Truth are a couple of other suggestion for men's hair.

Also, for guys who don't like to browse shops, they could have a look at the men's fashion blogs now and then to spot styles and designers they might like to try.

Two I know of (I expect there are others):

The original opinion has been proven incorrect.

'Because you said so' is not proof.

Clothing may be *intended* for one gender or another, but that doesn't give it actual gender itself.

Laqroki has good hair for men, just not a huge range of styles. I also second the recommendation of Sirena — a good and varied range. Damselfly seems pretty great for women, but I wouldn't look twice at their men's hair — that god-awful 'on parole' look.

I've had several RL male clients who've spent time in jail, and none of the Damselfly styles remind me of them. Come to think of it, there wasn't anything particularly distinctive about their hair. And Damselfly has such a wide variety that it's difficult to determine any distinctive characteristic about their designs.

So might I ask you to describe what you dislike about the hair in concrete terms, instead of some social stereotype that we may not all share?

You may certainly ask, but I'll continue to do as I please — including not giving a fig for your idea of what is a social stereotype.

My avi is currently sporting a 'do from Muism. I've been very impressed with their styles as they're nicely varied.
Before that the best place I had found was Naughty Island though I'll check out some of the other places mentioned.
