The problem seems to start and stop at random. I prolly have a dozen rotating items on my land. Each day since Havoc4 I have noticed about half the items no longer spin. Funny thing, every day there are different items that stop and other items that have started again. I have several computers, all Macs, and items that have stopped on one client will be spinning on another at the same time but none of them show 100% of the items in motion. There is an eerie clam settling over the region, kind of like the abandoned amusement park that has gone still after so long being in constant motion.

It makes me very sad... 75% of my sculptures rely on this function so my business is screwed by this bug. Today the remaining working ones stopped too.

Isobel,

Standing looking around at broken rotations my first instinct is to say something like this:

"What makes me even sadder is coming to understand that second life treats it's creators- the very people who make this world- with utter distain, the fact that they get people spinning their wheels for pennies creating must be one hell of an inside joke."

But there is hope on the horizon, a new network of 3d worlds where content is the property of the creator:

"Up to now, virtual worlds and games have been "walled gardens" requiring you to download special software for each one. VastPark provides a browser application able to connect "gardens" together and enables communities to step smoothly over the "hedges". We've solved a number of the hard issues facing virtual worlds such as enabling content to be portable across worlds and be independent of worlds and enabling seamless linking between worlds..."

If you missed the important part of that paragraph let me point to it-
"enabling content to be portable"

I too, make kinetic art. I could get mine moving again by taking them back into my inventory and re-rezzing. But they only move for me. No one else looking at the art sees them move. Good thing, too, since I have a new exhibition starting yesterday.

How could LL f**k up one of the most basic scripts in SL? There are many creations no longer viable or sellable: windmills, plane props, art, amusement park rides, swimming fish, disco lights, ducks, evil rotating for sale signs (Oh, wait. One good thing out of this muck up. I guess the glass is half full).

I've been through enough crap from this crew. Please competitors, get on the stick and get us out of here!

/me cuts off his Xcite ear and sends to Philip Rosedale as a going away present.

Well... I filled my half empty gallery with some other projects of me... to make my customers at least not come for nothing.

@the two quoters above me:

Rocky: good luck, better postpone your exposition until after the next server update.

Dragger: i am still trying to be positive *giggles sadly*

restarting the region fixes the issue.

It doesn't always fix it -- my region is still broken after several restarts.

With the "database upgrade completed this morning" by LL and in operation for a few hours, did the rotation script problem resolve itself? (or is that revolve itself?) I'm at work and can't log on, and have not seen anyone post a "jump for joy" thread.

Well thats not good. This bug is changing or i am getting lucky with my restart workaround.

If anyone can repro this please add it to the jira.

Just got back from a Q&A on Havok4 ...

Dragger Lok: What if anything is being done about lltargetomega and llSetLinkPrimitiveParams PRIM_POSITION being seriously affected by Havok 4?

I can't cut n paste the reply verbatim but Andrew Linden did say he was aware of the lltargetomega issue and said "Simon" is working on it now ...

What you haven't heard is the car makers complaints- think they are still in a state of shock.
