The first part of your statement is incorrect; RLC has been around for several years now and is run by a profitable company, Utherverse, which also runs a few other virtual worlds, not specific to sex. All are run on the Prototerra platform. Utherverse seems pretty happy with it's little sex palace of a virtual world.

The second part of your statement could be just as true for SL as RLC. I will say tho that it's far easier in SL pretend to be a "200 kilo Cartman/Al Bundy'esque men in drag running around claiming to be an unlimited submissive or slave and begging to be 'raped' by 'daddy'".

O, and you can cash money out of the platform. General money is earned by prostituting yourself, however with the introduction of custom content there are a few designers there charging to help you customize your private apartment, etc.

All that said, I did find the platform (not just the sex-oriented virtual world built on it already) to be very limiting and not in the least secure, which is why I wonder what has drawn Stroker to this platform as the base for his own virtual world.

At least the "U R HAWT!" crew there have actual money to spend in world rather than the "GIMME LINDENS!" bunch we base half our economy on here.

Nebraska can be used in many ways. One just needs to think larger than life. I've been working on my own grids but OS isn't up to the chore ive found. I also think RLC isn't the hot ticket either.
All in all, its gonna take a major outlay of cash and determination and bravado to make it work. If this endeavor includes SLs framework/servers or happens 100% outside of the realm remains to be seen. But don't think stroker is the only one working on something.

I do know that the land/sim/rentals are LLs form of a members subscription program, just like any other paysite, its just better disguised.

The fact some of you spend 100s of real us dollars bucks a month is a porners wet dream come true. Now all that needs to be done is deliver a knockout graphics package with well laid rules and it will make bank. Even more so is a idea I have been tinkering with is creating a holo playing field on your desk top like the Japanese have created with their cube anime girls.(your desk top your arms set on NOT your "desktop"computer)
This takes money. And investors are hard hard pressed today to invest in something with so many questions as SL has of late.
Im not a techy person, but I can afford to hire a few and they have told me it will work (my holo program). I for one would love to see it happen. But the quoted price tag is staggering. Im well off but even I cant grasp the hours and hours and manpower$$$ needed to make it all work. Let alone selling it to the public. (Which oddly enough would be the easy part)

Yes free accounts contribute culture and more. But we are talking about making money and being successful first. Huge difference. Once established you can allow a bit of leeway for creative types. But in startup mode its do or die.

The little I know from Stroker is the Phallocratic douchebag side of him in SL. ( I got more or less permanently banned from his sim, wich fortunately i have no interest in visiting, because I happened to be a good friend of his ex virtual girlfriend )

I don't think the guy has the insight or the capacities to run a successful virtual world. It's a bit more involved than just tossing money to programmers or motion capturing your sexual intercourses.
My opinion, it's jsut buzz word so peoples then can say "Oh yeah Stroker it's this guy who even made his own virtual sex world, he must know what he's doing"

The artistic types aren't really a problem at least they create conent even if it's given away for free. But fior 5 of them we have 20 of the free playing non-creative social types.

Last I checked, my power company doesn't let you use their service for free either.If your cable company offered you a level of service that met your needs, would you say "No thanks. I want to keep paying you."? I have a basic account now, but I have always said LL should charge everyone something , even if it isa one time $10 fee after a trial period. That being said, I don't blame people for taking advantage off LL's generosity, at least those that are able to play nice with everyoine else.

The Free vs Paid discussion brings up some valid issues, but it also sometimes brings up the "creator elitism" that exists in some quarters. If you don't create or aren't looking to make SL a job,you are somehow a 2nd class citizen in SL.

The whorehouse owner is the one who benefits more from repeat customers, however.

Love Corsi... She has done more repairs of the things Stroker still sells as his own than stroker himself does. I find it highly amusing that since Stroker and Corsi/Briggi parted ways.. the lack of new content is.. *grins* yeah. I think its good he fights for IP content protection, maybe he should try creating things himself, instead of doling out for other people to do it and claiming it for his own.
