Number of NPIOF alts banned after being caught redhanded trying to copy content in my store last week: 6 Number that got away because I didn't happen to be online keeping an eye on things: ??? There is a certain person making a certain viewer that should have been given a legal smackdown from LL many months ago... apparently a lawsuit is the only way to wake LL up (third party viewer policy = too little, too late... plus needz moar teeth). NO ONE SAYS THAT CONTENT THEFT DOESNT EXIST IN SL. ALL WE ARES AYING IS "that guy suing Linden Lab" IS NOT A CHAMPION OF ANYONES IP RIGHTS. PERIOD. Screw him, and not in the way he would hope to get screwed, I would pay to see him go down in flames. UR GONNA GET TO SEE IT FOR FREE! HEHEHEHEH WATCH! The lawsuit is publicity? Doubtful. I gave up on his SL product line a long time back, which it seems he also did in favour of pursuing "landmark case(s)". But what about that Wikipedia page? I must write up Ephraim Kappler like that sometime.
For all its faults, the potential of SL remains so high at this still early stage in the development of virtual worlds that I think it would be foolish, even dilatory, to pursue rasterized rumpy-pumpy on another platform. Note: Will someone post when Blue Mars gets the willies? (And I'm not talking about Halloween spooks there.) |

In 2007 Alderman met Robert Flesch of Prototerra at a virtual worlds conference in San Jose California and soon developed a relationship to address the continually changing demands of virtual world residents. Flesch is best known for his work on the virtual world "Red Light Center" by Utherverse. I've questioned this in my mind since I read it a few months ago... IF (big, economy sized, "I have no idea if this is true or not" "if"  Stroker is building Eros-3D on the Prototerra platform, it's going to wind up looking and behaving very much like Red Light Center.In RLC, when you download the client and the various areas of the "world", every thing you see is downloaded to your computer. Most of it (animations, attachments...) in the .gr2 file format but most of the textures are saved as .jpg making it unnecessary to rip them or use any sort of 3rd party program to access them... just open up the folder and there they are. I've seen many many many of the textures from RLC thru-out SL. Seems odd to me that someone so interested in protecting IP would hedge his bets on a platform that offers less security then SL (amazing, I know, that such a platform exsists). And while User-Created Content and customization is a possibility in RLC, it's in it's infancy and rather clunky to work with (other then texture creation, which is the same as it ever was). So Eros-3D = Red Light Center Redux? And just my opinion, but Stroker isn't wrecking SL... LL seems to be doing an excellent job of that on their own. |

I don't think that Stroker is going to wreck SL; nor do I think this particular lawsuit will do a lot to advance the cause of fighting content theft. It does not seem to me to be a particularly well-crafted lawsuit.
But it may suffice to perform a modest cash extraction on LL. As for the lawsuit being a publicity stunt, I have to admit that you of all people would have a nose for that sort of thing. I wouldn't call it a 'stunt', myself, though. Of course, there is definitely a branding aspect to it - Stroker is attempting to brand his company as a leader in 3D eroticism, so in that effort, probably all press is good press. I doubt the lawsuit is totally cynical, though. I believe that he is genuinely enraged about the content theft he has experienced in SL. And, to some degree, he also is upset on behalf of others. Enfin, eros-3D will sink or swim according to the quality of the offering. We already have quite a bit of information as to the quality and popularity of Stroker's products and marketing. One should keep in mind, though, that Sexgen started in an empty market space. Not clear that eros-3D shares that advantage. |

The scripots and animations were created by Corsi Mousehold and Briggi Bard lmao 2. do you know WHo coined the term SexGen(R), who made the first beds? who's scripts and anims are in every CURRENTSexGen(R) bed.? no worries Jumpy gonna tell ya.
