I asked a similar question a long time ago and got a fascinating array of answers - most of which I couldn't understand. It seems that there is an horizon line in sl so we are on a planet but it would be a huge one. It's not absolutely linear. I can confirm that we do have a wind and we do have barometric pressure as well as a temperature. Lindens did a great job in creating sl. The name? Why not just "Linden" - it belongs to them anyway and it has a pleasant "ring" to it. Or "Tron"? "Erewhon"?
