...ain't surprised. Those are gonna be the spots to draw the most visitors to Bay City for a while.
I clarified my post: the first plots up are on the western edge, far from the bowling alley and such.

Ah. Well time will tell then.
I am thinking that Bay City with all those small parcels could lead to a situation where the sim gets full due to people just hanging out at Linden areas and all the small parcel owners cannot get in to their homes. Hmm...I hope not, but that's a valid concern alright. I think I'll wander around & look @ the map again. If the LDPW made the Sims w/ Linden Areas JUST full of LDPW builds, then that would be THIER problem...and just put Land in the surrounding Sims up for sale. I don't think that would be a big loss. _____________________

Just a slight nitpick. The resident "moles" from the Linden DPW are not volunteers. They are paid aproximately 10US$/hour. Yeah! What she said.. at US$10/hour ......"volunteers" ![]() _____________________

One of the plots is up over 52L/sqm already. These are going to be interesting to watch. I think it would be nice if they would include the name of the sim somewhere in the auction. It would also be nice if they scattered the auctions across Bay City so the area would slowly get built up together, instead of concentrating everything into a tiny little piece while the rest of the city sits empty.

Since my last post, the 384 sqm plot has gone up to $35,010 with nearly 2 days left. That's $91.17 L/m and climbing! Good luck to everyone that's in on that one. Some of the others are still reasonable, but there's a lot of time left.

Yeah! What she said.. at US$10/hour ......"volunteers" ![]() ...especially in California where LL is. On the other hand, bein a bum I would take $10 an hour to work in SL. _____________________

Yikes! So much for me getting a little plot there.. /me really, really hopes it's not just people looking to resell the land at higher prices. They're not all like that. At least not yet. The last time I checked there were still some going for around $10 L/sqm. But the cheaper one's aren't as fun to talk about. _____________________

When considering the prices, remember that it is double prims. Size of a 1024, but prims of 2048 (which is what, 468?).

I just noticed that there are only three layouts for the sims at Bay City. The recipe for expansion becomes clear. A city only Levittown could love.

Bay City parcel 2b - Mature 384m 17... L$35,010.00 16 5/23/2008 1:35 PM Unbelievable! ![]() Look again.. "Bay City parcel 2ee plus - Mature 1344m 614 prims" is now at L$162,330. I had reconsidered and thought about maybe spending a bunch for a nice parcel there but this is a bit out of my confort zone. Of the two I had my eye on, one is over L$140k and the other's coming up on L$50k with still a day left before the auction closes. |

Wow... The first auctions are over. I wonder if any records have been broken here, like the highest L$/m? Several of the "oceanfront" parcels on the west went for >$L 150k and they are already up for sale. I wonder if they'll be landlocked when the next Bay City sims are built.

Uh? ![]() Double prim is when on the same amount of square meters, you have the double of primitives (512sq = 234 prims), and you pay fees for 512sq. Borders has nothing to do with the 2X parcel bonus. _____________________

Tegg knows what it means. The point was, I think, that if you're in a double prim area, it makes sense to have a bit of a buffer between parcels because people are more likely to go a bit over their edges.

...ain't surprised. Those are gonna be the spots to draw the most visitors to Bay City for a while. Actually the "For Sell" signs are proving a popular drawcard ![]() _____________________

Borders has nothing to do with the 2X parcel bonus. You think you are getting double prims but when you crunch the numbers you could have got the same prim number with twice as much space to buffer from the neighbours for well under the same price. Double prims will only be handy if they get prims to stop sound and chat from travelling so you can't hear your neighbours & guests talking in local chat from the centre of their block to the centre yours. $1400US for a 1344m parcel, could have brought an open space sim for that and rented half of it out. _____________________

You think you are getting double prims but when you crunch the numbers you could have got the same prim number with twice as much space to buffer from the neighbours for well under the same price. Did you realized we're talking about Bay City? No matter when you say: "...you could have got..." (somewhere else). I could get anything, anywhere, even for free... the parcels there will remain double primmed, since that's the definition of "double prims". If you'll need more space, buy other parcels around you (don't forget to sell your RL home first... ).Double prims will only be handy if they get prims to stop sound and chat from travelling so you can't hear your neighbours & guests talking in local chat from the centre of their block to the centre yours. That's for you, not for whole rest of the users. I own my simulators to have some privacy (i can close em and have full privacy, since you cannot "cam" into it), but i don't say: "any land less than 65536sq and with no neighbours has no usage at all". It's just me, what i need, what i want, and what i expect. $1400US for a 1344m parcel, could have brought an open space sim for that and rented half of it out. Indeed, so? We're already talking about the crazy prices (it would be crazy even if they were 4x bonus...), but this has nothing to do with the definition of "double prims". ![]() _____________________
