well you have to pay them something though.

actuly, you do not need to win millions to do that, most of the people working at linden labs has a degree in computer technology (like DeVry for instance)

You know if we all play the lottery and win millions, we can all get together and make our own SL..hmm but we'd have to change the name , geez just think of the possibilities..sigh

If I were to win the lottery, there is a whole list of things I'd spend the money on, but this isn't one of them. My first life would be set up to where a Second Life wouldn't be necessary.

They say they fixed it but doesn't look like that to me. Still money loading, no search, no tp. Anyone else with that problem?

It makes me wonder why they say it's fixed in that case. Asked around with friends. Some have some things working but no one has search. Well seems I have it the worst. Nothing is working for me:(

[BEGIN RANT]
Is there a shooting range with Linden targets? I need this today. They've come up with this most addictive platform that seems to have infinite potential, and then it all turns sour. But, too late --you're hooked! And you waste tons of time with absolutely nothing to show for it.

Today I was very close to finishing a room in my skybox. I had uploaded two William Bougereau sketches I want to hang on either side of a window. I got the first one looking great. Tried to copy it and move it to the other side so I could replace the image with the second one, but the frame isn't copyable. I don't remember where I got the frame, so I have to click on it and do a search for the creator. But searches don't work.

Later searches do work again and I find where the frame comes from - a mere $L35. New frame in inventory, I head home and put it on the other side of the window near a topiary. I select texture to replace the image with the Bougereau, but surprise! -- I actually had part of the topiary selected. It evidently extends a lot farther than it appears. So now I have a topiary with a giant Bougereau portrait in place of leaves on one side. I try to select that texture again and use the textrue dropper on the other leaves to get them back, but I don't have permissions to copy the leaves, only to screw them up.

OK. Time to suck it up and go buy another topiary. I don't remember where I bought it, but I can at least do a search for the creator. Success! But now when I find it and try to buy it, nothing happens for while and then I get a blue pop-up that says something like" Transaction cancelled because the request has become stale."

Stale? Stale??! I'll tell you what has become [expletive] stale!

[END RANT]

Thank you.

And your inability to use a mouse when selecting objects for texture is LL's fault how exactly?

I`m beginning to come to enlightenment and realize these problems are inevitable. The rants won`t do any good.

I think these problems are just going to keep on occuring and all LL can do is target it and (temporarily) fix it until the next fall in.

I don`t believe any of these things can be fixed permanently, if they could, wouldn`t it of been done already?

SL just can not scale to accommodate all of us and all of our content.

Maybe they are trying to send their customers a message.

I'm not quite sure what the message is, though.

Obviously the message is "observe shabbat" =P

Mine at least made me feel better - and was ever so slightly tongue in cheek, although it was all true. I still love SL -- I think.

For the record I got everything repaired, but with one more tiny annoyance. I wanted to top the room off with a bust of Apollo (or David or someone). Keying "bust" in the search tab finds me 168 lingerie shops. Sigh . . .

I agree, and what was the name of that game coming soon from Australia, Outback? Looking more interesting with every crash.

Outback is pie in the sky, nothing more than an email address & webpage (as far as I've seen being on their mailing list for 6 months) set up by a guy pissed off with SL.

Thats the problem, definitely.

Add to that the asinine attitude toward customer service on peak hours for services like this one (as in, the weekend).
