From: Hiro Queso As medical science continues to advance, people are living longer and longer, and as a result, the percentage of the population that elderly is set to increase. People at that stage of life are reliant are the younger more able members of the population to support them, both financially, and directly. If birth rates are reduced drastically, you will increase the percentage of the population represented by older people even further, there are then even less 'workers' per elderly person, and you eventually get to a point where the general population can not satisfy the needs of the elderly.
Sorry, going off topic!
<goes to corner> The only solution as far as I can see is to up the age of retirement to 117. Or we can encourage people to drink too much, smoke too much, and take too many drugs so they'll die young.

From: Faithless Babii IF youre gonna go down the whole pregnancy route in SL...splash out and get the Tantra package...its for conception and is SOOOO funny. It tells you how likely you are to conceive and after simulating sex (you have to wear xcite stuff btw) it then asks you...HOW you did it so it can calculate if you are , or are not preggers lol. It times your ovulation cycle...AND....gives the guy a condom, you the pill or diaphram...AND decides if the condom has broken or not ....
its.....HILARIOUS Wow someone is crazier than me! I never got the fun part, who the heck thinks up these things! Should I go back & do it all properly?

From: Kyrah Abattoir Support?
If your solution to supporting the elders is to have each year more and more youngsters to support the growing amount of elders, it is a bit flawed to think it's a theory that will hold for long on this little ball of earth. Long term you're right, but you miss the point. Without young people to work and generate wealth, there is not sufficient economic activity to support all these old people in the short term. Simply by limiting the number of children being born would solve the problem long term, but would mean a massive upsurge in world wide poverty temporarily (by temporarily I mean for a couple of generations or so). For the record, the world wide birth rate has, overall, slowed it's rate of increase over the last 50 years. In industrialised countries, it has actually decreased. Going back to Hiro's point; using the UK as an example, the ratio of workers to retired people in 1955 was 5:1. Today it is approximately 2.5:1. At the current birth rate, it is estimated that when I come to retire in about 2050, the ratio will be 1:1. The only other answer is to cull old people at the same time as reducing the birth rate. Perhaps a maximum age of 50 could be introduced, after which people would be disposed of. Back to the topic; As a man I will never know the pain of child birth. This proves that, not only is God a man, he is a man with a sense of humour.

It had a fat kid on it and said; OBESE CHILD, DIES AT 52. PENSIONS CRISIS SOLVED!
