I had something happen like that on my sim a few weeks ago only I know what happend then, I had a some scripted items laggin the sim so I selected the troublesome objects in the estate tool and hit return selected objects, to my and my residents surprice half the scripted objects got returned only they never showed up in the lost and found, not even after manualy deleting the cashe files so I submitted a ticked to request a rollback and within an hour everything was as it was before the accident. some people ended up with a copy of no-copy objects because inventory and sim state are not linked.
Thanks again TJ if you are reading this.

So does everyone still think open sourcing is a good thing?

I had two sofa's and a chair go missing once, then weeks later I was living at a new property on a completely different sim and they came back. I arrived to find the two sofa's and the chair sticking out of walls and the floor..........very odd.
A friend of mine lost a lot of stuff when she went over her prim allowance, they came back months later.

From: Czari Zenovka Gah! It's bad enough to lose individual items but entire houses!!! That's just bizarre!
In that case, our entire sim had been hit by some "attack bomb" thing set off by a disgruntled (and banned) former resident. I couldn't believe something could actually destroy virtually every build on the sim.
Anyway....I sure hope this "disappearing items" bug/whatever gets fixed FAST!!! Two years ago while living in Manila City the same thing happened. The sim was under attack by some "mafia" clan. They did considerable damage warranting a rollback. Lucky for me everything was returned to normal.

Well crossing fingers.. nothing missing that we have noticed the last couple days... I had not thought of looking under stuff- I did find some flying llamas over Talon Faire the other day though I was pretty sure I had not left them roaming and certainly not in the sky. SL is a Comedy of Jobian proportions.

I wonder if some of my stuff would return if I moved.

From: Cappy Frantisek So does everyone still think open sourcing is a good thing? If the sim code were in any state to be open sourced, at least we'd be able to figure out what's going wrong here. Also, open sourcing the viewer was pretty much beside the point, given that the viewer protocol was unencrypted--which was a mistake even with an open source viewer.
