Have You Planned YOUR SL Demise?

I am sure there are many other "dramatic" people like myself in SL, so here's another opportunity to share our Collective Imagination. How many of you are preparing a fitting end for yourselves when you finally leave SL? Are you just gonna "switch off" or "do yourself in" or ... well, you tell me / us.

Myself, I expect to get shot by some maniac who is sick of my threads and my inane comments. Seriously. I told my SL partner that when that happened ... well, end of story.

I have, actually! I figure it this way, if I get enough AI for the Desmond avatar, how hard can it be to script land barony for a private estate from a web server?

So... I don't know if the demise of his typist is going to stop him... in fact, he might hide the fact (can't be good for business, no?)

We all might have property in the virtual version of Manhattan island right now and not even realise it - Des might be sick-wealthy in 150 years...

So add AI upgrades to what is essentially a corporate entity that well may be able to afford it... and hire human advisors as necessary, regularly monitored by financial performance review...

Well.. I know exactly how I'm going to.. and I need a certain amount of skill first..

The day I'm going to quit (That will be my choice, purely), I am going to destroy everything on my land and build a memorial to GLBT suicides... names..everything. I've already begun building that actually...for future.

It will resemble the Transgender Suicide Memorial that is in a sim whose name I forget at the moment.

Anyway.. about 200 metres above this will be a statue of Okiphia, exactly as she is the day I quit, down to the clothes and hair and everything. She will be rotating, in the floating animation of her Kunoichi AO, and will be surrounded by two swirling particle effects, one pink and one blue.

I will record a machinima, all that day, showing the death of Okiphia Rayna. It will be suicide, an effort to escape a Utopian world that is not real... an effort to escape a life I cannot live.

It will be around 5 minutes long.. it will be my 'masterpiece' I suppose. Everything within it will have been created by me, and it will be shot and animated by me.

A notice will go out to my Family group, as well as my Business group, telling the story of my Life and Death.

The land is owned by a group. That group will be disbanded, the very last minute before I leave SL for good I will boot everyone and leave it myself, which will cause the land to be left in a state of limbo until the Lindens realize it some months later, allowing the memorial and tribute to myself to remain for that time.

The video I mentioned earlier, as well as the story of Okiphia Rayna, will be posted here on the forums, and will be in a notecard inside of the statue itself.

And that.. is how I will die.

Also, at this time I own 11km, so the memorial will be large and complete. I plan to buy two sims eventually.. and if I own those when I leave. well.. I will keep paying the tier for two, maybe 3 or 4 months, allowing the memorial to be that large, and remain that long at least. If I own two sims, they will be a memorial to all suicides, various sections devoted to various reasons, and to drunk driving deaths, and various other causes of death.

wait... which me is dying... virtual me, or RL me?.... if it's virtual me, then I think a fitting end would be scripting a pirm / debris wind combined with a nuclear explosion effect on the sim I happen to leave from... something that will span and entire regions and blast prim physics particles over at least the surrounding 20 sims and take the on I was on down with a bullet...

or even more fun would be to make it work every time I leave an area by tp.... then see how long it takes LL to track and destroy my av =X

Actually I know someone that bought land and put a house and memorial up for a man
that died in RL His name was Pete and did search and rescue. 9/11 too I think--but I might be mistaken on that detail. She is in S and R it too and was in 9/11 that's why I think that.

It was one of the most touching things I have ever seen here.

hmm now a bank is mentioned, i`ll just setup a terminal looking prim wich only accepts money, make some spamming objects and dump all over the grid and leave sl like all others do

I'll put myself in a coffin, park it in a pub somewhere with great music, and host a huge old Irish wake. I'll log out, and people can dance and laugh and tell silly stories about me.

Oooh or how about a traditional Indian cremation, outdoors on a huge pyre with poor old Oryx roasting somewhere in the middle.

sorry, but trout's uploading himself to SL and having the RL rocking grandpa MP3 player has been the best idea i have seen. Not exactly a SL demise - because he would never die in SL - well, until the next crash anyway...

I have never really thought about it. Wel you dont do you? I've heard of funerals etc but I never thought of one myself. I think i would like a particle show or something. Maybe like the welcoming galaxy thing with my likeness and some sort or ethereal/mystical thing. hehe, make people cry for the loss of a great person

When I leave SL, 'I' will be alive and on my feet walking into a better-managed comptetitor of SL and taking all my content with me. So, no death planned here.

Oh yeah! I'll have some of that! Can imagine the bar talk at Taff's Bar though:

I expect to die in a horrible industrial accident and be surreptitiously dumped into the shark infested waters off Pooley. The official cause of death will be "inventory loss".

Assuming nothing happens to my RL, that SL continues to run and that I don't get wiped out buy some glitch or meltdown, this is what I propose currently: -

I have been in SL for about 15 months. I intend to leave after 10 years, in an undramatic way. I don't want to die in SL! So I'll go into retirement and RL can get another av to push around the grid! So I've got 8 years and 9 months to go, folks!

hehe, Alicia can use her bank to collect for your retirement gift.
Better start saving now....
