How do you cage someone?

There is a nice trap feature in the Mystitool. Sit out or short TP and it follws them. TP out of the sim and it waits around for 15 minutes (not sure of the time) incase they return. If they do return, it is right back on them again. It's not really a cage, but then it is not as AR vulnerable either.

That's all a bit complicated - lol!

Oh, sorry. I guess I was not clear, those were all seperate ways to get out of a cage.

Sitting on the ground or a forign object may not always work because you are still physical while the client trys to move/fly you to the object. Any scripted item (like a poseball or virtually any chair) with a sit option will instantly pop you over to it. No phsical movement because there is no movement at all.

Ah yes, but you see, they have to click on it to actually be trapped. Sure, anyone with half a brain would not touch it but just how many Welcome Center griefers have half a brain?

There's a few here that need caging. Let's see who should be first...hmm..where's Connelly at? Ah, no she might like being caged so on to the next one. Next in line will be.......

I'd expect something more creative than just caging from you.

I love my Mystitool.

I was building in Sandbox.... Newcomb I think. (I have since gotten more selective about Sandboxes). My Mystitool said in a chat message something like "Warning, noob NAME1 NAME2 is approaching with a cage gun."

I had plenty of time to rez a box and sit on it. The green dot on the mini map in question sort of hovered for a few seconds and then moved on, disappointed I hope.

And sitting down is the first thing I do when I get to a sandbox anymore.

On the few occasions I've been caged or otherwise griefed in sandboxes, I find the owner of the griefing objects and shout their name and what they've done in chat IN CAPITALS.

..and what's up with these messages today, I can't format them properly!!

That looks like a typo to me, Ricardo. I believe it should have said "I'd expect something more creative than just caging *FOR* you."

There's enough griefers arsenal available in world or in SLX. One tip though (although probably already known). Caging is an AR'able offense. And LL hasn't been known to 'choose sides'.

BTW. IMHO, if somebody wears active xcite items in public spaces, it's their choice and risk of people 'using' them for fun. It's easily avoidable by simply detaching or deactivating.
It somebody violated your private space, while griefing, this doesn't fly of course.

The "allow list" is your friend if you want to wear your xcite stuff all the time.

LOL...normally, I don't wear my xcite in public. I did just buy the "lips" which make your face emotion, and the "hair" and put them all in one folder, so ended up wearing everything. They'll be moved out tonight ;)

As far as Mysti, I have it, but didn't know it had a caging function!

My first suggestion is don't wear xcite in public.. as it seems you know. lol

I use the ProTEC for defensive whatchamacallits and the invinciBOT for offensive measures. I've never used the mystitool but have heard nothing but good things. It may be a cheaper route too.

I wish I'd found out about mystitool a lot earlier. Would have saved a lot of money -- as now the mystitool and a zhao-ii are the only things I wear consistently.

I've seen others talk about the fun they had caging someone before they banned and ejected...how do you do this?

I had TWO griefers yesterday, on two different sims! Of course, they were banned and ejected, but I wanted to have some fun with one of them since he had decided to have fun with my Xcite, before I determined ejecting him was appropriate.

Best answer to this question is "You don't".
If you begin using cagers on people they can AR YOU for griefing. You did the right thing in the First Place, don't Feed the trolls, Just Ban, and Eject. The faster you are rid of them, the better.

Try Mysti-tool,
its a simple and easy to use tool, there are more higher powered units for pro bouncers, but it does this task well. It also has an anti-push so so you stay put, stops the childish types running through conversation groups.

The advantage of mysti-tool is the other tools, it remembers TP history (to go back),
Has radar, so it lists the idiots, helps write the name down

Brilliant flight assist, with extra speed for zooming across sims
and if you own the land -quick access to commands.

Personally I love the sky platform rezer, make a quick platform, rez a studio, pose model and no-one around at 600m to hassle you.

I use MystiTool. It is a good set of defensive tools with a couple of offensive ones as well for last resort. Mysticalcookie also makes a scaled down version with defensive tools only that is free.

Getting out of a cage or whatever without a tool:
- sit on a pose ball somewhere else if you can see one.
- rez a plywood box, move it next to yourself and sit on it; then move the box (with yourself on it) where ever you want to be.
- open the map, find the circle that shows where you are and double click the map close to your self - you will teleport to the spot.

Do you have any other suggestions? I have been dealing with a griefer on my own land, He's hitting from outside my land. I cannot log out and in to remove the cage, all I can seem to do is return his prims. I have to be able to do this quickly before he has me orbited off my land though. He's been banned for up to a week at a time for other attacks on other people and locations. This was my first experience with a griefer. Also, I discovered that you cannot report abuse from outside SL , so if the assault is bad enough you can't stay in SL to report the attack. You are out of luck.

Moj have you got your land set to no object entry?

TP me over tonight when I get in. I'm at a bit of a loose end tbh until at least 1.30PM game time, I'll only end up building stuff and swearing at my inventory.

Actually you are REALLY lucky you and Phil don't have us as neighbours ... muhahahahahahaha ... there was a small plot of land in your sim ... I nearly bought it!

I got a Mystitool the other day and I so wish I'd had one before. I have an invincibot but tbh there's not a lot of use for it to me, other than it's subterranean properties.

Thanks, Cherry, lets just say Phil was not amused last night. I am not in SL now, as I can't play from work. Was just hoping to hit upon an answer as I was reading through the threads. I really should be paying more attention to what is going on around me instead of just minding my own business so much ;)

If people minded their own business a bit more SL would be a lot calmer. Possibly also more boring. LOL.

I love my Mystitool.

At the risk of turning dis into a Mysti thread, me too. I love the 'collision' warnings. Really adds to those logs and screenshots, when I can add "collision with 'bullet' NAME1 NAME2" to it all.

I don't mind turning this into a Mysti thread. I love mine but have never fully utilized it. What do those collision warnings mean? I get them a lot when I'm around games.

I will have to check more into this tool. To be honest most of that conversation went right over my head. Its really too bad one can't be protected on their own land. I have never even had to mute an av yet.

my guess is it works like this

-Have little respect for others
-Get a cager
-wear a cager
-use the cager

I imagine they probably have a notecard with the appropriate clicky / command word.
