How do you cage someone?

I've seen others talk about the fun they had caging someone before they banned and ejected...how do you do this?

I had TWO griefers yesterday, on two different sims! Of course, they were banned and ejected, but I wanted to have some fun with one of them since he had decided to have fun with my Xcite, before I determined ejecting him was appropriate.

There's enough griefers arsenal available in world or in SLX. One tip though (although probably already known). Caging is an AR'able offense. And LL hasn't been known to 'choose sides'.

BTW. IMHO, if somebody wears active xcite items in public spaces, it's their choice and risk of people 'using' them for fun. It's easily avoidable by simply detaching or deactivating.
It somebody violated your private space, while griefing, this doesn't fly of course.

Easiest solution is still to 'sit down'.

Let's see, I was on my completely empty sim where this asshat decided to put up a nightclub.... ;)

/me makes note to move hair and lips xcites out of the "bits" folder...

I use MystiTool. It is a good set of defensive tools with a couple of offensive ones as well for last resort. Mysticalcookie also makes a scaled down version with defensive tools only that is free.

Getting out of a cage or whatever without a tool:
- sit on a pose ball somewhere else if you can see one.
- rez a plywood box, move it next to yourself and sit on it; then move the box (with yourself on it) where ever you want to be.
- open the map, find the circle that shows where you are and double click the map close to your self - you will teleport to the spot.

I use Mystitool as well, never had to use any of the defense tools though.

Question,if you are caged..can't you just TP home to get out of it?

Honey, it really sounds like you need to look at your land permissions. That will cut out most serious griefing. As for the asshats playing with your xcite, or other asshatish behavior. Just eject and ban.

I also use the mystitool to cage if I need to. But, I prefer to use my pretty pink robot body gaurd to cage and orbit, she is just so darn cute.

I have not used excite bits in forever, but is there a way you can have them attached but turned off? Muted?

I like my sexgen parts much better.

As I had just taken possession of the sim the night before, I had it wide open as I have sim designers popping in to take a look at it. I got home last night from work, and went to the sim and he was there. It's now locked down tight, and anyone else will have to be given temporary membership in the land group which owns it.

The other griefer was at my club, which was temporarily open because I had a tenant moving in. It's now locked down too, but when the griefer was ejected and banned, she started placing rocketships around the perimeter of the club on land that doesn't belong to me, boxing us in. I started ARing everything in sight and when as the confirmations came in, I reponded with "I need a Linden immediately!!" and sure enough, one showed up. Sadly, though this person claims to have been banned from 24 sims for griefing, she was only given a warning, according to the police blotter.

The problem is not TP out of it, is just I'm trying to help some new residents and sudendly I'm caged flying in the sky, it's not easy to go to the same place and try to convince the new resident that being cage is not a natural thing in the welcome zone... maybe that's a reason why I hardly go again to the welcome zone

LOL...normally, I don't wear my xcite in public. I did just buy the "lips" which make your face emotion, and the "hair" and put them all in one folder, so ended up wearing everything. They'll be moved out tonight ;)

As far as Mysti, I have it, but didn't know it had a caging function!

I may or may not have used my Mysti's "Orbit" before, when someone was using some tool of their own to repeatedly push me into a wall, and not allowing me to move away. It would seem the only way to break his ability to do what he was doing long enough to do my AR and get out of there. If I had done it, which I am not gonna admit to.

You're welcome. I hope it helps. Not that I know how to do it, nor that I'd suggest you ever do such a thing, either. Use this knowledge only for good, with great power comes great responsibility, etc. :-)

There is a nice trap feature in the Mystitool. Sit out or short TP and it follws them. TP out of the sim and it waits around for 15 minutes (not sure of the time) incase they return. If they do return, it is right back on them again. It's not really a cage, but then it is not as AR vulnerable either.

I have a Siege Guild "Bear Trap" that I've used on occasion when not on my land, build is enabled, and not wearing my mysti (which I usually don't, don't like to wear a lot of scripts). It's invisible, and freezes the avatar in place for 90 seconds or a few minutes, I forget, haven't used it in a while. It's not very common, so usually they just are silent while they figure out what's going on. Gives me enough time to leave or put on my mysti or whatever.

hmm, cages.

First, caging someone can get you in trouble, best not to do that.

Now if you are caged one really great thing you can do is this.

Situation. Av cages you, if they are of any significant quality their cage will sit you dead center of it if you sit on it. Also if you sit outside of it, it will move to your new position.

So..... I made, but won't say... a device where it rezes a sphere around you, you sit on it, you can now non physically move around. Go to the jerk to caged you, His cage will of course follow you and if he is dumb enough, most are, he stays still amazed you got out, and soon the cage is around the both of you, He has now caged himself. With either the same device or others, you do a small TP just over 96 meters away so as the cage can not see you anymore. Unless the cage is really smart and auto dies when target is not found, the idiot is still caged. Until e deletes the cage himself.

But you can start to talk down to him while both of you are in the cage.

"hmm, now that we both have spare time on our hands, lets talk about upgrading your pathetic skills........." That kind of thing.

yes this post is filled with fun ways, Hopefully the griefer is smart enough to move away. I have met and delt with both kinds.

That's all a bit complicated - lol!

Right click on the cage and select "Sit" - you will find yourself sitting on the outside of the cage.

OR

Pan your camera outside of the cage and Sit anywhere - on the ground, on a wall or any object outside of the cage.

- If the Cage "follows" you, then use Perwins method.

Remember, you already have their consent. If someone uses an attack of any kind on you, he's obviously initiating a round of role-play combat, which of course gives implicit permission to participate in the RP game.

Of course, this is a game of "war," and we all know what is fair in love and war - everything. Which means filing an AR - appeal to a "higher power," a common action during war - is an appropriate, even a required, action. It should always be used, alongside his being hoisted past Pluto, assuming such an odd event should somehow happen to him, of course.

In my case, if the past-Pluto scenario does not somehow take place with such "players" as it usually does, they often find themselves somehow trapped, and a 6-foot-high pile of crap sometimes materializes to cover them, and remains as long as they do, if they do.
