From: Tiffy Vella Great news Carbon!....about your balls... Let's keep this from degenerating - though I suspect there are those Forum readers who will snigger regardless. lol Unless it's as a result of clearing cache, my temp textures hang about on the prim even after they've disappeared from inventory. Being the cheapskate I am, I've been using plans/sections uploaded temporarily as reference for a build and for me they stay around for days on end. Eventually they get fuzzy and I have to reupload but it's certainly not every time I log on.

From: Carbon Philter My only question is if the upload is temp and in my cache, what do other ppl see - either for the sculptie shape or a temp texure I've tested on a regular prim? Balls! erm...that's what other people see The temp upload doesn't actually upload anything. The Emerald viewer uses the file on your hard drive to render the sculptie. It probably copies it to the SL cache folder, but it's still only on your hard drive. You could log an alt in on the same computer and still see the temp sculptie shape, but only avs that use that computer can see it that way.

From: Tiffy Vella Hey Ceka.....does that mean that emerald temp textures work with sculptie maps too? (I so hope they do.) The last version of Emerald did..I haven't made any with this version yet.. I had just heard about the temp upload not long ago and soon as i did gave it a test and it worked hehehe If it's still in this version it should EDIT: I just went to test it out and yes the option is there for this version also..i did notice one thing though.. the lossless compression box won't let me check it..so thats not good..thats the difference between jagged edge and smooth..unless they just went ahead and made them all lossless compression.. i haven't noticed any bad sculpts yet..so i'm thinking it's auto or something we set in prefrences ..i'm gonna look around a bit more..

Blender isn't an in-world programmme, so it's not what the OP was looking for, but I can thoroughly recommend it provided that Domino's python scripts are added to it. Without them, Blender is an utter pain but, with them, it's an absolute doddle. And being able to test them in the main grid with the Emerald viewer, before uploading for 10L each time, is brilliant.

From: Melita Magic ty for the tips, any classes NOT in voice? I really don't want to send my ping all over the globe. ;P Eleanora Newell's classes are text-based. She does not use voice.

I've been trying to recall what the 3D industry name is for a 3D file saved as a texture map rather than a series of numbers... ie, saved as what SL refers to as a Sculpty Map...
I used to do 3D art, and have some commercial applications I bought, that I could swear could make those things, but I can't recall what they were named, as its been a few years since I used any of that.
