I wouldn't be opposed to a Fashion Police service.

The Police in Sl need to focus on the important things so the following departments have been set up
Bling Patrol: Responsible for detaining those who look like a pimp or a cheap hooker
Facelight Patrol :Responsible for holding and detaining those who thing the sub really does shine from out their ***
Over sized erection Patrol: Responsible for removing those male attachments that males seem to forget to put away after use and in many cases look more like a coat hook
Prim Boob Patrol:Responsible for restraining the person so they do not hurt themselves when they walk
Fashion Patrol:Responsible for seeing people can put their clothing on for a start, wear shoes without the toes poking out from under the sole, that colours go together, that bald caps are word when prim hair is attached, that pants are worn under primskirts so your cheeks dont show through
Attachment Patrol: Responsible for advising people when they have an over load of attachments on making them look more like a circus clown
Gesture patrol :Responsible forgagging ppl who seem to have nothing better than to use silly Gestures all the time when people are trying to talk and seem to have lost the art of conversation
Bloodline Patrol Responsible for well i am sure you all know I am sure more will be added soon

From: Imnotgoing Sideways SL Police doesn't exist. They're vigilantes blended with discreet greifers. There are way better things to do and be on the grid. (=_=) Yep they are fake police and griefers, just like the SL Army, SL Fire Brigade, SL Ambulance, SL Rangers, SL Doctors and SL Water, Phone & Power company's

I had a SL Cop checking IDs in my club - I mean , come on. Of course I ejected him. A group is only as good as their leader. If the organization is run by a lunatic then it shows in their activities. If they become a council that offers security classes for new sim owners and some personal secuurity classes for noobs - then they would be more than welcome in sandboxes and welcome areas. Proper screening of members with earned higher ranks would be needed to screen out the nut jobs.
On a side note, they need a spiffy acronym: C - Cyber O- Operative P - Protector

The most effective form of policing in SL would be undercover work!

From: Sindy Tsure Police is a bad name since it implies that it's an official, sanctioned organization. Anybody that knows what's what will know that LL doesn't sanction _any_ enforcement group except their own and that's likely why you usually get rejected. I've met a few 'police' people in SL and they seemed pretty cool - there's nothing they can do that I can't do, though.
If they had a different title that better described what they did/can do, they would be more accepted. People new to SL think SL Police are real, and they have fear of them. Nothing but a bunch of griefers, and I have a whole slew of them banned on my sim. Every encounter ever had with them has been a problem. Last one toldl me, well you don't seem to be violating the TOS on this sim........just *as if* it was up to him to decide whether I was or was not violating the TOS. They make my blood boil.

From: Nicks Mint I worked for Second Life Police long time. We are usually rejected. So i stopped, now i manage sandboxes. Police who work in Second Life should they stay. I would say no to Role playing unless they have their own sim. But the cops mostly just do what the normal people do report people. Why would people fill out reports to give to cops in Second Life when they can fill them out them selfs? When I first joined SL 2.5 years ago they were everywhere.. actually had a couple of friends that were involved with them.. I remember once being in a office session with Char Linden and a griefer showed up and this friend who was an "SL COP" was all over the griefer like a fat kid on a smartie. To me, I think the whole thing of SL cops is just someone's vigilante fantasy so they can impress LL... But to be perfectly honest and this is my opinion which we all have a right to... I believe that SL cops are more of a hinderance to the process then anything else.

They should do as other roleplayers do, and play their cop games on their own special cop sims, where they're not bothering anyone else. They definitely need to stop pretending to have authority where they have none, and playing their games on other people's property.
I usually wonder if any of these "cops" are even old enough to be on the grid at all.
