I have been waiting for new green mainland to become available (maybe 2048 or 4096 just for personal use) and this morning I see that there are a new group of sims coming up for sale. (Esterhal is where i was) The only problem is they are way overpriced! Do you think it would be wise to wait for the other nearby sims to become available or are they all going to be so expensive?

Overpricing on land is nothing new. You see sims going for 4 and 5k US which is ridiculous. Mainland is just as bad and not only bad in being overpriced but in what people are allowed to do once they acquire these lands.

As long as people continue to pay these terribly over-inflated prices Linden will continue to sell them as such.

You have no one to blame but yourselves.

I had SL's best sim manager in Rosie Castro and SL's best and sweetest tenants.

lemons for breakfast again, was it? Pulling up what was clearly a heartfelt remark about positive experiences Raymond has had, is simply embarrassing

Here, Ricardo, let some sunshine in. You'll feel much better for it.

I think the new sims' prices are pretty high at the moment, but should come down a bit. Also, you need to really look around, there's a huge difference in prices when the land really isn't all that different.

First off, don't regret your purchase. Enjoy your land. 4096 is a perfect size with plenty of prims.

Yeah, I made money on my sim. I bought a waterfront sim with two beaches that I knew would hold its value at a time when sims were going cheaply since LL was dumping too many. I turned it into a rental community and that income paid the tier each month. Then when RL got too busy, I sold it and made a few bucks since LL stopped releasing sims and prices went up in the six months in between.

I had SL's best sim manager in Rosie Castro and SL's best and sweetest tenants. Overall it was a great experience. Worth all the hours Rosie and I put into it.

Remember, the whole point of a Second Life is to have fun. If you're not, then just stick with the one life you started with. :)

Thanks for the kind words I feel a little better this morning about it. I should have waited for better deals but I went there last night and next thing I knew I was talking to the seller and headed off to the linden dollar exchange! I couldn't help myself. Sounds like you had a good time with your sim though, maybe someday.

Well this morning I went exploring around the area and found a few 4096 lots that are much cheaper and not too far away. I didn't notice them yesterday but they aren't really part of the new green area, they are that white rocky type of land. I think I will have to ignore the prices around me if I want to not feel stupid for paying too much.. (yeah right as if I won't be checking them constantly)

Anyway an update: I was a fool and bought a 4096 lot in the new area. I don't want to say what i paid due to the embarrassment of knowing that I overpaid but i did get the lot I wanted.

Hey, you only overpaid if you're not happy with what you got. Value is completely subjective. People are charging those prices because they know those new sims are prettier than most.

Don't get bogged down in buyers remorse. You got a parcel of land you love. Enjoy it. :)
