Where is the source of the grid's power?

I remember being told about a place in SL where the power source of the grid resided and it was like a power station with a hamster wheel attached. The myth was that hamsters powered the grid, this was a long time before I was in SL but it caught my imagination.
Does this place exist? Does anyone have a location for it? - I have always wanted to go and see since I heard of it but could never find it.

Thanks :)

If its hamsters, I think Raymond would know.

If its hot air, I think you could tap off of certain forums posters

If its human bio-electricity - then blame LL for selling those special LL deal headsets, maybe.

*laughs* good answer but I will be disappointed if the place turns out to be just a myth :(

The source of the grid's power is a ring worn the right hand of Philip Linden. ;)

I think I have been there and seen the hamster wheel. Actually it was an avatar wheel, you could sit on a pose ball inside and help power the grid. Sorry, I have no recollection of the location. There was this blinding white light, lifting me up into the sky...

So it did exist at least - wonderful, hopefully someone else has more. I do hope it still exists today.

I think I've seen one of those! It was in the courtyard in the middle of the Son sim.

Last time I went there, though, it was gone... :-(

We should of had Marianne's neighbors take the hamster's place.

Thank you very much, I have now been to see and sadly the wheel is no more there but instead a "simthermal" device is running the grid - most ingenious but I feel sad tht the original is gone :(

Thanks for all for your replies :)

Arcadia Asylum.

Sadly, she's not been in SL for months, and might be gone for good.

I am bumping you to an 8.5 on the Official Trout Measuring Instrument of Sluttiness. You are an enigma - on the one hand a sweet, gentle, intelligent woman who we would like to wrap up in our arms and protect, and on the other, a temptress to whom we would like to do all sorts of unmentionable things.

Congratulations and shame on you! You are a bit of a slut.
