Congrats Desmond,
It is good to know that having interesting, new ideas, and being kind person has
a place amongst the usual and can become successful in own unique way.
I visited once there but I never really returned for some reason.
Yet over time I guess I acquired my own little group of kind, wonderful, generous,
inspiring and hope recharging friends that helped and looked out for me which was why I remained this time in SL. We inspired each other and even though we have only met
as pixels as real people.
I think that's why my Queen wanted to do what she was doing and continues to do so.
For friendship and creativity
I think your example and my Queen's friend and my unrezzed whatever inspired her to do something more then just run of mini mall but started the community as she did, lag and all.
I hope you have many more years of inspiring people to do more and follow their dreams.
My community I hang out is small but who knows maybe there is hope for us too
Here is hoping you have many, many more birthdays.

Sincerely Congrats,
FD Spark

Congratulations Desmond and other Caledonians. I've visited your State quite a few times and was very impressed. Like some have mentioned before me, Caledon is an amazing place, and a great example of the true wonderfulness of SL.

Well done Desmond.

And in particular, well done for having the idea to partnership with other island groups and connect up as a type of virtual federation. As it happens I am with one of your co-federation members and it is working okay

Well done Desmond,

You are claiming only two years from the small bit I have seen it looks like several man-years of work rolled up into a beautiful place.

Aww gee shucks guys!

Thank you!

I soooo didn't imagine this would turn into a thread; in fact I tried to sum it up in the title as I figured few would even bother to read it.

I hope all of you realise your dreams.

Many congratulations Desmond. I have yet to explore Caledon in any depth yet but I keep getting told to by a mutual friend (he has red skin and looks like Beelzebub bless his little cotton socks), whose praise for your good self and your accomplishment is exceedingly high indeed.

PS is there a party :D

smiles...

I'm still gobsmacked by the incredible outpouring of good cheer on this thread, and embarrassed down to my toes... thanks everyone :)

But don't forget, there are many, many other people involved.

Caledon forums, wiki, all the blogs, all the events, the esteemed Library, and much of the estate management is *not* done by me at all - but rather by the hard work, dedication and incredible efforts of some of the most amazing people I've ever met - simply for the love of it, and for the love of each other.

There was an *incredible* 24 hour party, fireworks over the Firth, a ship parade, and many days of events including two Grand Balls of the Roses (timezones) - much of this can be seen on the blogs. It was a bit of an experience logging back into the same party, even wilder than it was 18 hours previous...

...yet, I run a fine line even mentioning Caledon as its own thread in Resident Answers, so I felt it was not politic to mention the events here. Anyone who sought them out found them easily enough.

Alright, my fifteen seconds are over - so as to not to keep dragging this thread up I shall leave it alone now, profusely thanking everyone one last time.

Huzzah! Thank you all!

Des
