I think there should be something in edit - preferences to allow you to give them, which should be OFF by default.
And if its off you shouldnt even be asked when something requests permision. It should be automatically denied.
Anyone know how to add things to the JIRA who can do this?

Please file an abuse report immediately so that we can properly investigate this claim. If you suspect that L$ are being stolen from you via a script or any other means, please, please, please file abuse so that a member of Community Affairs can address the situation.

Well, if you could see me now, my face is bright red. I submitted a support ticket on this, and just read the reply. Apparently, my Linden$ was not taken after all.
When I had looked at my Transaction History, the most recent was a "Take Inventory" by someone I didn't know, and in the right-hand 'Balance' column, it had a " - " , where the previous transaction, an upload, showed my remaining balance. So...I though the person had taken my inventory and my Linden$.
Now, I see the Balance column is back where it was, plus added L$ from people who sent me a gift.
I didn't want to write this after all the trouble people went to helping me, but it had to be done.
I'll be contacting those who gave me L$, so I can return it.

Great news Millibar! And nothing wrong with a nice lively discussion to make people aware of these types of issues, since they *do* happen even though it didn't happen to you. You can pay anybody in SL, without finding them first, by clicking "search" then "people" and typing their name in the box. Once you've found the correct person, you'll see a "pay" button in their profile. You can also send people instant messages from there if you like. Type carefully, there are lots of quite-similar names in SL. We don't want to see a thread where you've paid back the wrong people now  edit: oops you edited a bit, good to see you're on your way with that  |

i would love to have the spare time to make a new alt newbie account and jsut wander about the island waiting for people to try and scam me. it'd be AR hell for them. grrrr  i hope you get yoru money back. that's a crappy thing for someone to do.

That's what's weird, now it says "Give Inventory", but I printed the history when I first thought I had problems, and it said "Take Inventory". The Linden Lab response just said "the type of transaction you are referring to is free of charge. Therefore, no Lindens should have been removed from your account."
