[UPDATE 09:15am PST] In a further attempt to help our database recover, the Landstore and XstreetSL have been disabled.
[UPDATE 09:06am PST] We have temporarily closed logins to alleviate load on our database. This problem also affects our asset servers, please do not rez any no-copy items at this time, or make any transactions as they may fail.
[Wednesday, September 02, 09:01am PST] Due to problems in one of our colocations, many regions are currently offline. Our engineers are already at work to fix this as soon as possible. We will update any news here as they become available.

True story
about 3 years ago I was standing on my land talking to one of the bug squasher lindens when his AV suddenly did the head up the butt foldup that sometimes happens. I told him he was doing that and he told me that that bug has been around since pre beta and NO ONE has ever been able to figure out why "Head up your a$$ disease" happens. He falt said the code for SL is such a mess there is alot of stuff that even thier own coders cant figure out what its for.

yes, it's better than it was two or three years ago. But it is WORSE than it was six months ago.
The last two rounds of server "upgrades" and viewer "upgrades" have markedly decreased stability and performance.
Where previously we could get a concurrency of 80,000+ before things started to break, now they start going down at around 63,000.
This is progress?
