You could go to the monorail station at Mosh and watch people stare at each other. LOL, sadly true ![]() _____________________

or the Governor's spider I want to know what's up with the Moles and all these giant spiders! One of the new Mole-built islands in the Blake Sea has a cave with a giant spider in it; one of the access tunnels (with the ladders) under the dam on Zindra has a giant spider in it; and one of the cabinets has a glass jar of some sort with a giant dead bug in it. (I didn't get close enough to see what kind.) Are they breeding them for some sort of sinister purpose?? _____________________

I note that this area has appeared, and Salazar Jack has reported on issues elsewhere on the grid. I do wonder if there is a connection. HEY! Here's a recent reply from that other thread - isn't this THE Ravenelle - Torley's Ravenelle? Her alt? mwahahahahahhaha *rubs her ancient hands together and slips back into the mist* All of this must be part of a bigger grid-wide conspiracy!!!!! I just received word that there was an object in my home sim tonight spamming the following: 7191214.000000 shouts: Terror will rain down upon the unfit gods and the flock that they govern, from now until the End of Days. /me looks both ways before crossing any streets, and keeps that tinfoil hat on tight. Time to go to bed now - hopefully, I won't dream of zombies crawling out of toxic waste barrels and giant spiders in the bottoms of coffeepots. Actually that wouldn't be much of a stretch from what I normally dream about. _____________________

Yamato, aka Shangri-La. I know that LisaHot Juran was recently looking for the history of that place. Still have the boat? Yee gods you have a good memory... but I haven't gotten it out in years. I don't know much of the history of the place much of it was before my time, it was built by users but LL later took it over when the group responsible for maintaining it fizzled. Nobody wanted to see it disappear, it was for it's time one of the best builds. Prim drift and arbitrary auto-return took it's toll on the place it was sad. As I type this bits of that by-gone era are coming back to me, I remember a attending a few meetings there... did I have a house in one of the houses for a while? I think I did. I can't believe it's been 5 years, it feels longer, I can't believe I've been in SL five years... what a way to spend a life. I do know (enough of) the history of Darklife and why Dore is double prim. During beta DL had made them selves very useful to the LL devs by providing feedback and debugging. LL in their gratitude gave double prim land in Dore to DL. Quite a boon for it's time. It was the only double prim land I know of from that time. I miss the old SL. I even miss the sim crashes. I miss the walking tour threads (SL use to be small enough you could walk, not run, all of it in one day) the balloon tours, the old welcome area and getting all dressed up to meet the new users. I miss sitting on that fence and just chatting. I remember that cutting edge feeling, not knowing if SL would be around in six months (I wish I had gotten that Lifetime Account ~_~), that exhilaration of being an explorer into uncharted territory. Going to the release party for the first synchronized dance machine, knowing it had never been done before, and that it was something new. SL isn't going places any more, it's been places. Now it's just getting comfortable with itself. There is no excitement, no adventure. As I think about it, I've gotten one of the things I've wished for and now I know it was something I never needed: To explore a new world. I don't want to do it any more, not in the same way. I want to make a home, somewhere to be comfortable with myself, where the demands upon me are those I want, a place to relax and cast off the shackles and clean up. To be me and not what people want me to be. Ah well I've rambled on and said more than any will read but thank you all for putting up with it. _____________________

Ohhh I see. I just saw your jira issue about Yamato/Shangri-La. https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/MISC-2398
I had totally forgotten I had written that notecard (when did I write that notecard? 2004? 2005?) _____________________

What's with the big Power Substation/Ventilation Shaft/Microwave Relay on Gilda.. you know what it looks like.. it looks like the place where they kept the aliens in MIB.
So great, not only are they force relocating all us pr0n aficionado to P-U-Z, now they are stacking it full of aliens. What's next? Kennedy's 'real' assassins as the estate managers? |

Yee gods you have a good memory... but I haven't gotten it out in years. If you ever decide you've tired of it... ![]() I'm not sure if it's memory or information. I am pretty good at remembering facts and figures. This is why most folks won't take me on in trivia games. I recently did this long write up just of the history of that general area on the mainland. Geek that I am. ![]() I do know (enough of) the history of Darklife and why Dore is double prim. During beta DL had made them selves very useful to the LL devs by providing feedback and debugging. LL in their gratitude gave double prim land in Dore to DL. Quite a boon for it's time. It was the only double prim land I know of from that time. I miss the old SL. I even miss the sim crashes. Now *that* is interesting to me. I wonder if something similar was involved with Venice? Who knows, anymore! I for one am glad you did -- and I agree with the above, even if I'm not _yet_ done exploring. Ohhh I see. I just saw your jira issue about Yamato/Shangri-La. https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/MISC-2398 I had totally forgotten I had written that notecard (when did I write that notecard? 2004? 2005?) I believe that was 2005. I've a few JIRA entries on similar locations, though many have a lot less information floating around on them. Like Wild West Town whichhas suffered far worse than Yamato :-/ _____________________

Ah well I've rambled on and said more than any will read but thank you all for putting up with it. I like to ramble too. And wander. Sometimes my mind wanders when I'm rambling. AHA! Another clue! Perhaps the "green" living they are touting is really for LITTLE GREEN ALIENS!!! They are being integrated into the grid! The bots are being moved out to make room for the aliens! Should I welcome our new green overlords, or should I pee on them? _____________________

Should I welcome our new green overlords, or should I pee on them? Nothing to worry about. We can just let them think they are overlords. It worked with humans. It'll work with little green men too. |

Governor Linden is a woman? Yep. Lilli and I met her and one of the moles when the memorial park opened. She was wearing the same outfit. http://slstorm.blogspot.com/2009/04/i-went-and-checked-out-new-linden.html |

Should I welcome our new green overlords, or should I pee on them? *Assumes a puppy form and goes off in search of Lindens to "honor".* _____________________

Wait'll you see all the green aliens at SL6B... It IS all a big conspiracy!!! I shall find all the aliens and pee on them - I mean honor them - I mean pretend to obey them. I just spotted Morpheus Linden here at SL6B, but he's too fast for me. I wonder if he's in on it too - maybe LINDENS are aliens!!! Now that all my conspiracy theories are aligning, I find myself more confused than ever. ![]() _____________________
