You come from the South San Joaquin Valley, too? I recall that back in Visalia, we said peh-kan, but it's been a while since I moved away, so my memory might be a little weak. I've tried to block out growing up in a town where, when we wanted to have a good time, we had to go to Fresno.

OMG! - No, man, the South South! Oh-rijinal Peecan country* - Jawja!
.
*(now marketed on billboards everywhere as "Stuckey Country" where pecans come in logs.)

Oh, and there were rattlesnakes and it's 110 degrees all summer and the air quality is barely survivable. Other than that, it was fine. Especially if you like to grow nuts and citrus.

On second thought, that does sorta sound like Georgia.

Oh how I PML! :D

After a week of ranting about LL and VAT it was nice to remember that it's the people who make SL what it is. Can't wait for the SequeL.

Y'all, where I come from (where they're grown), it's PEEcan

This California girl got stuck living in northeast Texas for a couple of years, where they apparently feel they are THE place for pecans. They made fun of me saying PEE-kon, because they all knew it was supposed to be puh-KON. Of course, they also pronounced "Montague" like MON-TOG, so obviously they were insane. ;)

Ditto on pecan. Marionberry is pretty good, too.

The Cartel Closes In On The Pie!

Can I just say that not only was this my finest performance to date ..

.. but also the Props Dept said I could keep the moustache!! WOOT!!

Oh Trout ... I mean Mr DeTrout ... I bow to your craftsmanship .... /me leans forward .. tea cosy falls off.

____
Addition for explanation of term: Tea cosy, ancient European custom of having an insulating cover for the teapot hence keeping contents hotter, longer.

An American friend of a niece visited and when faced with this phenomenon looked curious .. paused ... and said "Aww, a little coat for the teapot!!"

- Never before in the field of international relations has so much tea been spat, dribbled, spilt or worn, in such a short time.

I couldn't stop laughing at this. Going to Fresno to have a good time? At least when I lived in the Central Valley I lived in Stockton. It is the worst place I've ever lived but I was only 80 miles from San Francisco.

Please allow me to put in a word in support of Fresno - they held the Roller Skating World Championships there a couple of years ago and that is a very sporting thing to do!

The single-word sanity test is harsh but very useful. I employ it several times a day.

No pie was harmed in the making of this very very brief film. It should be noted that I have no idea what I am doing.

Thank-you thank-you. I had something much longer in the middle, but it kept leaping to the last one too quickly.

There's, uh, probably a lot of things you didn't know about lindens. Another, another interesting, uh, lindenism, uh, there are only three jobs available to a linden. The first is making shoes at night while, you know, while the old cobbler sleeps. You can bake cookies in a tree. But the third job, some call it, uh, "the show" or "the big dance," it's the profession that every linden aspires to.

You could try on bunny suits...I'll bet they'd accent your ass attractively.

I am bumping you to an 8.5 on the Official Trout Measuring Instrument of Sluttiness. You are an enigma - on the one hand a sweet, gentle, intelligent woman who we would like to wrap up in our arms and protect, and on the other, a temptress to whom we would like to do all sorts of unmentionable things.

Congratulations and shame on you! You are a bit of a slut.

Hell, there's a whole spin-off series device! You could make a Bradleys Island with luxury hotel, airport and marina (and Troy for that matter!)

Yeah but who'd play the Quirky Sidekick? There's always one in those spinoffs.
