From: Faithless Babii why would it have been smoother? the rep i spoke to from hippo said there should be no problem at all, and that some people were on version 3 and it still worked just fine. i saw no benefits with the upgrade for my set up at all, hence not wanting to change something that worked. thank you for your helpful input...and for making me feel that this is somehow my fault- i hope i can be just as generous to you oneday when you need a little assistance  I spend a lot of time answering people's questions when they ask them in the group, which is the more appropriate place to ask this question anyway. Your saying "I told you so" to your bf is uncalled for because he also happens to be right, too. The best person to help you is Andy, and he will help you since he built the system and would have a better idea of what you need to do. You just need to be patient. I am a big defender of Andy because he is patient, friendly and thorough, and committed to giving good service *if people let him*. He gives us a very powerful product for a pretty darn cheap price, and good service to boot. He has people who can help. He just cannot be online 24/7 for stickier problems such as yours.

Oh yes, well, vendors should happily work as the new version, you might have a long painful weekend ahead of you if you need to change configs, or maybe you could try version 5? I think i might scrap the LOT and start from scratch...i just followed the instructions again and fiddled about...im positive the server has gone wonky...so your idea about just proceeding to version 5...might be the best thing to do...yesss a longggg weekend ahead.....blah  )) thanks for all your help...im off to the health club for a swim and a suana...i shall return REFRESHED! I know Cristalle probably wasnt meaning to sound harsh...but...im grumpy..and it *felt* like it....sooo sorry Cristalle if you werent Lording it over me with your version 5 perfectness while im stuck in the mud with my oldster-used-to-work so perfectly version 4.1 lol

Cristalle..anyone who knows me & my partner would know i was joking about the *i told you* comment...and i have tried to join the group but havent been able to raise anyone for the last 24 hours to ask....in my haste to ellicit some help from their rep...i neglected to ask to join the group, she was offline at the time responding via her blackberry...so it wasa jittery convo between us really. My partner is in the group, but alas not here either to ask in that group for help or advice. We use Hippo products in our rentals and our store and for our selves, we love them. im very patient mostly...i teach people with special needs ...ive not said his product is rubbish but i have said this problem/glitch is driving me nuts..because logically i see no error to be fixed... i came to this forum to ask for help as none was forthcoming from hippo...this is called resident answers...and i asked a question...i feel i have every right to ask it here actually. It was really helpful of Ciaran to walk through this with me while i was on site..im very appreciative of suggestions, im human afteral and might have forgotten one small detail that someone else might rememeber. As for my partner being right...i dont believe he is. the rep from hippo said this upgrade was fine on my exisiting system...i dont use the web plug in, so the new features didnt apply really to my set up..my partner LOVES all things Hippo...and loves going there to get upgrades, new gadgets and new items...for him the upgrade was an exciting thing...for me just one more thing to do when the system was working fine anyway.

I find the Hippo system great, I started with V5 though, and when you sort it out I highly recommend the web addon, it gives you a complete overview of all your boxes on a page, who's renting thm, how many prims they have, how much time they have left etc, and fits in with hippovend well too. It may not help upgrading directly, but using it you can put a new box next to the old then copy it's settings and contents from one to another
