And there's nothing like an alt for doing initial testing of even those new objects that don't have scripts. Especially objects that you want to box up, and hope that the buyer can unbox successfully. (It's not the sort of exciting task you want to ask a real person to take up their time with.)

...how do you guys do it? It was never possible for me to use the same emailaddress, even when I created my first alt, for which I even paid the obligatory 9.95 US$.

If exceeding 5 per household is not possible, how were other people with more avatars (with perhaps 20 or more) able do register them?

When I try to create an alt and use the same email address, the message says that this email address already exists and therefore can't be used. Just wondering.

I too tried Led Zeplin, Lead Zeplin and Ben Dover with no luvin.

But I was surprised to snag Excaliber Swords. There's inspiration for a new business venture in there somewhere, I can smell it...

I am not able to do more then 5 names without deleting accounts even with a email
change for some reason.
A lot of good names but I haven't changed any accounts cause I am not sure who to delete.
What I found easiest to change names to first and last after someone pointed out how is go to the list of other API logins at the fan site with all the new names.

Just install another browser (Chrome, IE, etc), and keep the alt logged in in that one.

I got Apple Streusel to come up as available. I didn't take it (I have enough alts who never see the virtual light as it is).

this can be very enlightening. I just did a quicky walkkthru on Orientation Station portal. It presents things thusly:

Movement (no fly zone)
Voice Chat (including how to Lock it on)
Purchasing/Appearance (freebies)
Camming (including alt+pivoting which I *still* can't get the hang of)
Poseballs (PG of course)
Search/Map/LM's (nothing about Land itself)
Building (brief)
Flying (and sim border crossing, which failed for me lol)
More purchasing (some non freebie, and LM givers).
(looks to be the start of a more indepth building section last, incomplete)

Text chat was not even mentioned anywhere. Odd prioritizing too IMO. Looks to me like "escort" training. I did pop thru their "Clever" I think it's the "fun" one. Guess *I* should have really known better, but zomg the poor n00bs! Perhaps I should see if "Scholar" looks any different.

I took my new alt through the official Linden Orientation Island... not quite as engaging as when I first encountered the Parrot from hell, but wasn't too bad. Funny thing was, R-click edit was disabled on the entire island.. even in the mini sandbox (lol wtf sense does that make?) There was a good amount of "not so PG rated" items in some of the freebie boxes given away at the freebie board. Tried for a good while to get this foreign mentor to understand that I wasn't a noob, I was an alt, and that I didn't want that folder of hair. Finally had to take it just so she'd stop going on about how nasty the hair that came with the AV I picked was. Within 3 minutes of being born there, I had already been accosted by freenis... twice! Never realized how much I use my Mystitool till I didnt have one. I spewed soda when I overheard a noob from a small group nearby say "Second life sucks! I've walked around it 6 times already looking for more things to do and I always end up back at this same sign." That sign he was talking about was the big white rotating one, with the mile high red beacon coming out of the top, and it read "Are you ready to start second life? just click here to begin" in gigantic letters...

Maybe there are lists like the U.S. states have for license plates - they simply are never available. I'm guessing Bend Over would be on that list, if it existed.

Well, in my various passes through the Orientation places of dubious value, the one thing that caused me serious pause on my first avatar, way back when, was that I had to open and transfer items to inventory after purchase, and never was covered AFAIR. I can remember a frustrating hour or so with this totally useless box I had purchased that at various times I had lying around on the ground, securely worn on my hand and otherwise metaphorically kicked around SL. Someone finally came up and explained the whole process (which as second nature as it is now, wasn't intuitively obvious then). Do they spend time on the 'open' choice yet?

I have "SL" plus two generic nouns, "name", and "watch". But, IANAL. I haven't heard anything. They know how to contact me.

As a matter of fact, Orientation Station anyway (which is different than the LL generic Orientation Island) was very good at this point. In the Purchasing and Appearance section they did cover opening boxes and box on hand syndrome. The freebie givers were about 50/50 inventory folder vendors and boxes. They also explained purchased shapes versus system sliders somewhat thoroughly. Gotta make sure the noobs can all be nine feet tall with quadruple F breasts so they can blend in. However the box of freebie prim hair was apparently "self explanatory" as there was no tutorial on attachment adjustment or any such. Mixing and matching some of the freebie hair with the two freebie shape/skins I tried (male) had some potentially disastrous combinations. Such as the 80% cue ball except for blinding, nose-encompassing, mono-brow look which must be quite popular amongst the chez-noobish.

That was probably "edit and drag to inventory". They only added "open" later after people found "edit" too inobvious.
