However..i would assume that star wars-esque items are perfectly legal and anything that is star wars "inspired" is legal too. Make sure that any naming of "esque" items can't be construed as a knock off and good luck on selling those StromTromper avatars :D

Never found one I liked tbh.

I assume you've seen the robes at Furious? Does the Avilion hood go up/down?

My comparison of Dazzo & Furious stormtrooper armor
03-06-2008 13:22
Well, I finished comparing (pretty carefully) Furious & Dazzo's armor (which you can find in-world at "ad infinitum" shop), which seem to be the 2 biggest trooper armor vendors (I did NOT look at any clonetrooper armor). If you're not a standard humanoid avi, stop reading now...your only option is Furious, Dazzo's armor is pretty much only for humans or VERY human-like avi's. But if you are a humanoid, read on.

While I'm glad there is competition, and while Furious does offer some interesting features, and while I think she's a good person with a good reputation who was very willing to promptly questions (& I did buy her sabers since they were so well-recommended, though that's her only other product that I actually know much about), overall I think Dazzo's wins hands-down for armor. Dazzo's offers more features, gadgets, bells & whistles (grenades, animations, more sound effects, etc...most all of which, actually, mean little personally to me), but more importantly, it looks far, far better. Go see each in-world on an avi, take some screenshots, then compare, I think you'll agree. What's more, if you're interested in BOTH stormtrooper & sandtrooper armor (actually, I'm not), it's cheaper to go Dazzo's than Furious (but not my much). Since I only wanted stormtrooper, I could have saved L$300 by going Furious, but it was no contest for me, I bought the Dazzo, even though the extra gadgets meant little to me...I just wanted the awesome good looks. I was not too happy with the roughness and "off-ness" of parts of the Furious version. By the way, don't be fooled by the pictures on the vending machines...going by those, Dazzo's looks ok, with a few problems, and Furious looks pretty good too. But in-person, Dazzo's is perfect, while Furious...not so wonderful. Sorry Furious, I hope you do well in the rest of your business, or in a future version of the armor. Perhaps if the price were lower it would appeal to those who are willing to give up some looks to save some $.

For anyone interested in Star Wars in SL, there's now a new forum just for it,
http://swfansinsl.forumcircle.com

The forum is also having a L$500 forum-posting contest. The prize goes to the person with the most posts by 4/7/08!

There are separate forums for RP discussion & development, discussing avi's, weapons, combat, announcing events, classified ads, etc. There are also separate forums for each SW region (Coruscant, Mos Eisley, etc). If you'd like a free, private forum for your order or group that's also possible. See the forums for the "fine print".

DE is a normal apparel store. It stands for the initials of the creator (Doc Eldritch I think) but the look of some of the clothes are compatible with a SW theme.

Doc Eldritch is correct and the store is DE Designs. :-)

What's the fun in just watching a forum slowly gather people as they finally get around to signing-up and it finally reaches a critical mass of people posting so that it becomes a worthy venue for posting questions/thoughts and a worthy regular destination? Why not get it off the ground quickly? Every new place that wants to be successful has to advertise and grand opening specials are quite common, why not for a forum?
