As long as I have a book to read - and believe me I always do - I'm happy. From: Darion Rasmuson On sundays I bicker with my flatmate. Todays topic: "Is it way to hot or way to cold in here?" - followed up by "There is a limit to how much you can undress, but you can always put on more layers" This would be my house too if my husband weren't such a saint. I find putting on extra layers doesn't really help those of use who apparently produce no body-warmth on our own. eta - fortunately here in San Diego we're both happy with the windows open at least half of the year, including today. From: Desmond Shang ... re: peacoats.
I still have my dad's WWII era peacoat, dark navy blue wool, with a silk dragon embroidered on the inside. Done by some anonymous stitcher in 1930's Shanghai. That sounds SO wonderful, Desmond. I still have a 1950's era cashmere coat with plain silk lining that I bought for $5.00 at a second hand store back in the late 70's. It still looks great and is quite warm too.

Does drinking heavily, watching cartoons, and playing video games count?? Speaking of Military Coats, when my Dad dies someday, I get his jacket from Danang, when he was over in Vietnam. Nice coat too!! Map of the country on the back, tiger patch on the sleeve, silk lining. The patches are all hand sewn. It doesnt fit me either, so I wont be wearing it. And if you're curious- he got out in '67 before it got REALLY bad.

From: Jig Chippewa It's snowing. I love it when my plane is delayed at an airport and I can get the time to watch people walk by or sit down near me. Then I imagine what it would be like if "he" was my husband or "that" was my kid. Okay, that really sounds sad doesnt it? OMG! I thought I was the only person who played that game!! The game of "I wonder what their life is like?" and you try to piece it together by how they're dressed, what they carry, what they drive, etc.

From: Jig Chippewa Lol! I'll keep it in! LOL! thanks, Jig. I read it more than once just to make sure my eyes weren't playing tricks. It reminds me of when Who Framed Roger Rabbit? opened a few years ago. At one cinema the t was missing. The manager said it must have blown down in the wind. The cinema in question was in Golders Green!!! LOL I enjoy your posts, Jig - you have such a zest for life - first life that is, and that clearly carries over into your second one!
