I love my iMystitool. Can't live without it. The missing developer would make me a bit nervous

I've had a Mystitool for years and only used it once, to find and identify a ghost. What do you all do with it that makes it so indispensible?
Flight assist, holds favourite landmarks for map-tp, tp history, the magic pose stand that auto-deletes when you touch it (so handy), anim stopper, sky-platform rezzer, various land tools. The phantom vehicle is quite useful, too.

Little of its functionality is unique, and now an increasing amount is done better by home-brew browsers, but it's having it all in the one place that's so useful, I find.

There is a freebie version available as well, with less features. I use that. Basically I use the flight assist, the posing stand, and the avatar radar. There are other features, but I haven't found a need for them. It's a cool little gizmo.
I would have said this exact same thing. I bought one, but only use the features you can get with the free one.

Yes, since February 18th. Many of her friends are more than concerned.
Everyone should have a plan in case something happens to them, like one person in SL they could trust to give RL contact info to. Such a bummer that she has just disappeared.

I wore one for a little while, but found I rarely saw it as more than a flight feather with extra features that I rarely used. So I just went back to my multigadget rather quickly. The two are pretty similar, just different extras, and the ones from MG were more useful to me.

I have multi-gadget. I totally forgot about it until you posted. edit: Now I remember why I didn't like MG - you have a big spike in your head if you look in enable highlight transparent or on slow rezzing (which is all the time).

I been on Mysti forever now. The little things with Mystic I use, pose stand, flight, sim wide scanner, remote sim scanner, collision detection, auto chair table, chat notify.

One of the shared groups I'm in with Mystical Cookie shows her last log date of 2009/2/17

Agreed that the MystiTool is at the top of the "must haves" list for SL. Even if you only use a few of the features, it's well worth owning.

I am saddened to hear about the creator going MIA. I do hope that she is alright as the few times I've communicated with her, she's been quite lovely and helpful.

This thread at SLU has info about the efforts to contact Mystical; as of June 18th, no response. The Lindens have shown some heart.

Ok ... ok .... I'll get one LOL!

Thank you all so much for chipping in here and enlightening me ... I really appreciate it. The free one sounds good but I'm gonna stump up for the full version, as it looks like SL is becoming my new lifestyle of choice ;o)

sent you some class notes that the creator ran a while ago which i thought was helpful with various tips and tricks. weird stuff like how you can use the channel listener and hear scripted lsl commands of xcite products on channel 501 lol. the manual that comes with it is really good but I thought the class notes outlined some interesting ways you could use the product. hope that helps.

sent :)

If anyone else wants a copy it's still available at her store. There is a sign that says Mystitool Class chat log - click here for notecards - it's to the left of the door, just outside the shop.

I too have a Mysti-tool but I rarely use it, in fact beyond the initial lets see what the fuss is about I haven't used it since. I certainly would not call it a "must have" for all people.

A lot of people use the avatar radar on the damn thing which in busy places causes a lot of extra lag.

Not that I cannot appreciate the effort that has gone into the tool, it is well crafted after all but it is a case of YMMV I think.

What will happen to the sim where the mainstore is located? I have seen some land for sale, but it says the sim will go down in August. Does that mean they will remove the store too?

I think everyone who doesnt have a mysti tool, should buy one as long as they can...

I just checked and I had the 1.07 and received the 1.3.1 version.

Sorry guys. But this thread has encouraged me to learn more about the features and using it more. It would be great if I can intergrate 7seas fishing with it LOL :D

And I still do not know how to use half the options it has. I wish there was a Mystitool class to learn everything.

The designer, Mystikal Cookie, held classes about a year and a half ago which I attended. Then she logged them and, the last time I was there, you can pick up the class logs for free in boxes that are marked as such. If you can't find them for some reason, send an IM to me either here or in world and I'll drop the class notes on you.

As for my opinion of the Mystitool - if I had to give up every gadget I have except one, I would keep Mysti. FABULOUS product.

My choice would be my AO, only gadget that is on almost 100% of the time for me.

There is something to that, especially now. Both LL and unofficial viewers have been picking off its most-used features one by one, to the point that the teleporting butthurt that goes with carrying around those 45 scripts gets really questionable.

I've heard it mentioned a lot but in my two years in SL I have never used it. I *hate* HUDs--they clutter up the view! I don't use emote HUDs, dance HUDs, or any other HUDs, except for the short periods in which I'm in a non-human avatar that requires a HUD. My flight assist tool, my landmarks, and everything else I need are in my inventory. No Mysti tool for me!
