Hi folks I see much mention here of the Mystitool, and have found somewhere that sells it (seems to be only one place?) ... I am currently using the free ZHAO II HUD, and wonder if the Mystitool is worth paying for? Would be grateful for any pros/cons/tips/opinions on this. TIA

I love my Mystitool. And Yes , there is only one creator. For the price (less than $500L) its a must-have.

Love my Mystitool
07-23-2009 02:56
My Mysti is the one tool I would not give up for anything for in SL. It is worth every linden and more.
And I still do not know how to use half the options it has. I wish there was a Mystitool class to learn everything.

There is a freebie version available as well, with less features. I use that. Basically I use the flight assist, the posing stand, and the avatar radar. There are other features, but I haven't found a need for them. It's a cool little gizmo.

I am currently using the free ZHAO II HUD, and wonder if the Mystitool is worth paying for? Would be grateful for any pros/cons/tips/opinions on this. TIA one thing that nobody else mentioned: the mystitool is something completely different from a ZHAO. ZHAO is an animation overrider, basically it changes the way your avi moves. the mystitool is a general multi purpose toolbutton hud. ...if you tried to compare that to a zhao it would be like trying to compare the pacific ocean to cheesecake... both are pretty awesome but actually completely different basically, a mysti gives you any number of buttons with little tools, toys, gadgets, and practical jokes... you can manage access to your land with it, rez a posingstand wherever you need one, orbit a griefer, rez a floating chair that will follow any given person (i usually use that for shopping with the wife, whoever has the bigger lag gets to sit on the chair...) or you could stand on someone's head. I've bought my mysti maybe 2 years ago and i still haven't seen all the functions.

While it's true the mystitool is not an AO, there IS, (maybe was--this being SL) a free ZHAOII plug in for it. But IMO, turning my ao off with a click rather than having to drill down a couple levels of menu was worth a spot on my hud, so my mysti tool and my hud are separarte.

You can add frequently-used LMs to Mysti, too (although, since their names pop up on the typical blue menu, you need to rename them to something short that will fit on a menu button). I also love the flight speed settings. 'Plaid' will get you over 1000m in about two seconds

Love it!

I've had mine for almost 2 years now and I'd be lost without it! As mentioned it isn't a posing HUD but rather a tool. It rocks and its the best money I've spent in SL to date!

MEAO is the animation override plug-in for Mystitool.
I love mystitool. And also the plug-ins available on Xstreet.

I agree. Well worth the money. I've had mine for two years now, and use it several times a day for different purposes. It doesn't, in fact, contain an AO by default, but you can get a free plug-in, the MEAO v2 (see xStreet SL) to turn it into one, thus reducing screen clutter.
It really is the Swiss Army Knife of SL tools and gadgets.
edit -- Benski posted as I was typing.

I've had my mystitool for quite some time and at first found it intimidating. After reading previous comments about it, I decided to give it a try. I love the lm feature and the radar. I haven't tried anything else yet. I have my AO separate from my mystitool mainly because I like to keep things simple. Thumbs up for mystitool.

I have a bunch huds on my screen and would give them all up in a heartbeat, to keep the Mysti. I have spent a lot of money in SL but none so well spent as the Mysti. I have a friend with the free one, and she's missing some things that I use, sim scans, the protector shield, but she's a builder and mostly uses the sky platforms and elevator. Another thing I use a lot, hosting events on my sim, is the wonderful Mysti table that automatically rezzez another chair when someone sits in one.

Not to spread a rumor, but I heard the creator was MIA. Anyone else catch that news?
Still the best gadget in SL bar none.

I would suggest using the freebie version as it has most of what everyone is looking for in one package and is not as script heavy as the full version. The full version has so many scripts it's ridiculous!

I've had a Mystitool for years and only used it once, to find and identify a ghost. What do you all do with it that makes it so indispensible?

I rarely use it, but I wouldn't be without at least the free one, particularly if you are not going to deeply into building or scripting yourself. What I have used:
--- emote HUD (SL has a small built-in number of facial expressions. and these are the ONLY ones available in SL. Various free HUDs and features of other for-pay HUDs have the ability to play them ... but I use the mysti's because that way I don't have to remember another HUD).
--- Building platform (When I was new, I used this with its cool elevator and ability to change the floor, wall and fence textures, very nice but rather primmy. Now I just rez a 2-prim build platform of my own, sit, change its z. If I want a permanent box, I rez one of my own megaprim build boxes in the desired size. SO dull!)
--- Flight feather -- I never bother to attach mysti for this alone, but it is one of the nicest ones around, with pretty fine-grain control over boost speed.
-- Bug detection. OK, I have my own scripts now, but I still occasionally use Mysti for it.
-- Ventriloquism. If you want to goof on someone by talking as them (in object-text color), it has that.
-- Radar/avatar detect. Sensors are lag monsters and I very very rarely use them, but at least the mysti allows you to limit your sensor range. .

I'm absolutely addicted to my Mysti. Well worth the relatively low price. I use the emotes, the "favorites" to TP around with, the personal rezzers, the big scanning, collision detection, flight assist, mimic, the AV scanning, etc., etc.
(Miss you, Mysti!)

I wore one for a little while, but found I rarely saw it as more than a flight feather with extra features that I rarely used. So I just went back to my multigadget rather quickly. The two are pretty similar, just different extras, and the ones from MG were more useful to me.
